Is eq2maps working for origins? I've just tried installing it manually the same way I did for the live servers (as I am using steam deck so auto setup doesn't work) and it's not showing for me? Can't wait to get stuck into this though 🙂
Thanks for the video. Could you make a video highlighting the difference in gameplay/game feel between playing EQ2 on Live servers vs Origins. Not only for the raid part but for also the normal game/group play, craft, economy, etc. What would say are the best/most noticeable differences of playing on Origins from a game experience.
Which stats would a Ranger go for to improve physical ranged attacks? If you take it from the real world, to effectively operate a warbow you have to be really strong, not agile. So it would make sense if str would increase ranged attacks. Also, is this interconnected with arrow types: some do piercing and some crushing damage.
Between Troubadour and Dirge, if I'm grouping with my brother who is a Warden, which would you recommend? I was playing Assassin originally, but after toying around on a Troubadour a bit, I think I prefer to play a Bard.
I went back to Varsoon because of how bad the crafting is. I love making crafting part of my games especially on eq2 but its more annoying than fun at the moment.
I have lvled 6 chars to lvl 5-7. This weekend I'm going to take some to 10. I can't decide what I want to play. ( just started on origins last weekend)
I started last week as a dirge and I'm having a blast. The only thing I don't like is the crafting which has always been my favorite part of eq2. I don't remember it feeling so broken.
I recently started playing Origins, Ive been soloing as a paladin learning the hard way. what I dislike is that I seem to run out of quests of the same level all the time and had to scour most of Queynos and start of Antonica to find quests for my current level. I even ended up doing some quests wich were some levels above me that took me all around Antonica zone dodging high level mobs left and right going in circle around the mountain in the middle. I managed to do the essence quest to get a bind spell. When I got to level 8 I found paladin trainer for the first time, bought all ability/spell upgrades up to lvl9 but after scribing them ability/spellbook still shows the first version of the spells/abilities. At level 8 I got a blue stone wich started a level 25? quest or was it 23?, found the guy to deliver the stone to but then he wanted me to go to Thundering Steppes wich Im guessing is lvl 20+ ?. Ive been avoiding grouping much since Im a newbie and dont feel like I should bother others with my noobness. Its been a hassle to level running all over the place and trying to figure out professions leveling at the same time as struggling with bag space and trying to find better gear then lvl 1 stuff that NPC's sell. But Im still at it xD
Definitely try to join a guild! There are lots of noob friendly guilds and people will show you the ropes! Even though, it's called Everquest, you want to mix those quests with groups and just killing heroic things with teammates. Keep at it!
This server has waaaaaaaaaaay too much mindless grinding the same dungeon over and over and over for hours. They fixed that in eq2 right after launch. Really dont recommend this server until the devs address major issues
@@bear.necessities I lvl 44, I'm grinding it out, but I brought around 6 new players to the server and they have all quit. The exp was too slow to keep their interest unfortunately. The lead developer apparently has said he is against discovery exp because it causes server lag and against the server in general because it wasnt his idea. That's what the discord says. I'm having spots of fun but I put a dire warning on new players coming here: this server is likely to die at any point
I don't think the server will "die" at any point. There's a committed playerbase still enjoying the game. For people who are new and came from other slow-paced xp games like Project 1999, the pacing feels normal to them. However, if you come from WoW or FF14 or are used to modern MMO pacing, this is going to feel very slow. Sorry they couldn't make it! I had a lot of friends who didn't make it either.

I would add one more non-working zone that I found today: ~The Deathly Scarab Hive~ it is an instanced area in Crypt of the Betrayal, which does not work, meaning that the quest "Forgotten Potion - Into the Hive" cannot be completed currently.

I really hope the team continues to work and flesh out this origins TLE setup with the goal to get as true to classic as realistically possible. I think origins is the future of TLEs for EQ2.
...The absolute #1 by-far most widely-wanted/needed/wished-for/hoped-for/addiction-causing thing that both Bards and Enchanters brought to the table in EQ1 was, and still is, mana regen. And in EQ2, where EVERY single class massively depends on mana/power as a resource, I would assume it would be even BETTER in this game, and I always used it back in the day when I played these classes and no one ever complained. I can't comprehend how it could be considered 'not good enough' of a thing, even if it's just a small increase; does anyone else who plays this game have a take here? Is it really, actually not considered 'wroth it' or does this guy just not understand the value?
It's GREAT on Origins! On the other TLE and Live servers, it's only really good for the first expansion or so because there are other flat power items and spells that are just better unfortunately. On Live, Bards/Enchanters get super good power spells and AAs, but the power over time spells are just not good enough.
@@bear.necessities you mention at the end of the video that you’d be leveling with vitality. Can you expand on that? If you hit 50, what other leveling is there to do? I’m def missing something so appreciate any info
