The monastics at Aloka Earth Room and Parayana Vihara are dedicated to practicing the Buddha’s teaching in the style of the Theravada Forest Tradition. Their practice emphasizes simplicity, renunciation, service and an orientation towards learning from the natural world - all held within the context of the Buddha’s teaching. The nuns are embracing and integrating the realities and challenges of contemporary society into their practice.
This resonates deeply with me. I am a paleo anthropologist who is campaigning to raise the image of Neanderthals in the group consciousness.. I love the idea of the Earth Room being a “cave”.. where connection is fostered with wise words and ancient meditation..

Theravada monks have decided that the Bhikkhuni religion has died. This is a big problem in Myanmar as well. Especially because of the book "Bhikkhuni Sathanopa" written by Master Adiswantha. I am also writing a paper. It is a book called "Bhikkhuni Mission and Patasara Theory". thank you
