Yes, but when installing the fan make sure the fan motor in the attic is tilted up and not pointing directly down at the blown fan insulation. If you’re in a small attic and it’s hard to do you can always just put a small piece of batte insulation in front of the fan motor.
I’m under the impression that pulling cool air from places other than the living space say a shaded area outside would help with the cooling of the house more. Especially if you live in a place like Texas. I have shaded areas that stay in the 80s outside but yet they designed my place to pull air from inside my hallway into the attic to cool it. I figured seal the house inside and positive air flow with a properly sized ac and then pull 80-90 degree air to displace the 170 degree air in my attic. I’m actually about to seal off my fan inside the house because my ac is just going into my attic…
All summer the overnight low here has been near 80. So you aren’t going to get a thermal advantage of sub 70. And if this is true in Indiana it’s going to be true for many states.
With a whole house fan you run them on different times. With the attic fan you can run it with the whole house fan in the evening or run it during the day with the ac on. Does that make sense?
@@qcmanufacturing Yea, i'm in south Florida, so we're rarely interested in outside air here, I'm just curious in what scenario are people using this benificially.
@@SoFLaZ06 Attic fan pushes hot air put of the attic which pulls in less hot outdoor air, so your attic is having a much smaller heating impact on your home through the ceiling. Probably an asset for FL. Not sure about the Whole House option. Does it never cool down at night, not even in the wee hours of dark morning?
In the summer yes but in the spring and fall you can use your whole house fan. The average person in Texas and Florida run their AC 10 months a year so with a whole house fan and attic fan you can cut it down to only 3-4 months. In result you will save a ton of money, improve comfort while extending the life of your ac system because you’re cutting down the wear tear.
Our 3 bd 1 ba. 1,268 sqft home was built back in 1925 we suffer from very hot rooms & high humidity. Im try to make it a little better . Do you think a fan like this will make a difference we can actually feel? I can't go up and measure my attic but i would like to know if you could recommend the best fan to get i was really interested in one with smart capabilities but also with solar but you guys don't have one with both goodies yet, so what do you think would be the best to use.
We had one growing up. Opened the windows and hit the switch and the air suction was incredible but it sounded like a plane engine ... fresh air was so nice at night .
Yup, they worked great. We reinvented that old school one and make it quieter and more energy efficient. We also put dampers in place so you don’t have any air from the attic leaking back down in your home.
I can't wait to open my windows to get that cool air from outside into my house. It's over 100°F, over 90% humidity, and filled with mosquitoes, pollen, and other undesirables
@milohobo9186 the whole house fan would work great in the spring, fall and winter. Most people in your climate run their AC 10 months a year. With the whole house fan you can cut AC usage down by 50-90% in those months and other will help extend the life of your ac and save you money plus enhanced comfort. I would also recommend a smart attic fan. That will help your attic during the summer.
How do I find out what changes in the firmware update? I have a notice I can upgrade, but what was fixed? I can't find any information about what was fixed or why I should upgrade the firmware.
Cool and ventilate your entire home. When ever it’s cooler outside than inside your home you run the system and turn off your ac. This will bring cool air in from open windows into the living space and up into the attic and out the attic vents. This gives you a complete air exchange every 5 min and balances your home to the outside temp at night time.
Hello, im im texas. im in the business of house ventilation and have been for the last 20 years , i remember seeing those old big belt driving fans in old house attics , obviously, this is intended to move and create natural air circulation through out the house by cracking opening doors and windows , not to be used during extreme temperatures? You can't have your house ac running while using it because then you'd be pouring money out your windows, but do you guys get in a modern house issue of dust ,pollen lr debris drawn through the openings? I mean, with people's tendency to be allergic to everything now a days is this a concern for your clients? I imagine you will have to keep room doors and wndows open to create proper circulation? Does this affect pressure in the house ? At long term use have you seeing any damages to paint texture or tape? Specifically on a humid environment as we have here in texas all year round? Thanks.
Yes, we create negative and positive pressure it it won’t affect the home structure. You would never run this fan when it’s hot outside. You only run it when it’s cooler outside than inside so you don’t waste conditioned air. The outside air is normally 2-5x times cleaner than inside of your home. We also make the world’s first MERV 5 rated screen to block out dust and pollen entering the home. These systems are designed to help you cut down on your ac usage in the evening and nighttime. This will also help extend the life of your ac because you’re putting less wear and tear on the unit. You pair up an attic fan with our whole house fans and you have the best ventilation system money can buy.
I am sorry but I may have missed it in my search but, the intake box works for 16" and 24" CTC, how long is the box? for the 4.8 Stealth Pro? Or is the box the same for all of your units? Thank you ahead of time.
@@qcmanufacturing Thank you so much such a quick reply. I could have emailed you all but I figured your answer here will help others who may need to know the dimensions. Thank you so much!
Yeah, they’re installed in your attic and help bring cool fresh air in your home. You run it when it is cooler outside than inside your home. It helps cut down 50% of your ac usage and extends the life of your ac by not having to run as much. There are many huge benefits to the system.
Yes brother good but here is something that maybe help more good ventilation Exhaust vent if you use pie and atlest 8feet above from roof so you can get fresh air instead of already hot surface aire Thank you and best regards ☕☕
I’m looking to get an attic fan to push the heat out of my attic so that the AC ductwork that’s laid out in the attic can actually get cooler and produce cold air into each room. Right now when it’s 90-100 degrees outside and the sun beats down on my house the upstairs is UNCOOLABLE meaning as of right now if I turn on the AC it can’t work properly because it’s too hot. Will an attic fan push out the heat in my attic enough that the ductwork can get cool and throw in cold air into each room. I’m from eastern pa if that helps l! Thanks
Yes, the attic fan will keep your attic within 10 degrees of the outside temp on avg. so even on 100 degree days your attic will only get to about 110 degrees. This will help you cool the attic space and make your ac ducts much cooler. I would recommend one of our smart attic fans and then you can monitor the temperature
@@qcmanufacturing I was looking at ur gable attic fan/solar one. I currently only have 1 opening to put it at to push the hot air out. do i need a 2nd opening to help bring in new air??
I’m in the Bay Area and have a similar issue. Damn ac unit will stay at 75 all day, will never go lower than that. Attic probably gets hotter than my traeger. Will the attic fan assist with cooling down the attic and helping out the ac unit? Thanks
@rockstarrob19 you need an attic fan and a whole house fan and it will change the level comfort in your home without sacrificing high energy bills. This will keep your home so much cooler and make your ac work better and run less.
We make smart versions where you can control your attic fan from your phone and monitor the temperature and humidity levels. We also use ECM motors that can use as low as 22 watts when running on low speed.
We do it by temperature readings instead of scheduled times. You want your attic fan running 24/7 if you need too because it’s extremely hot. Our attic fan are worlds most energy efficient fans. On low speed they run as low as 22 watts.
It just looks like cellulose swamp cooler filter media sandwiched between the transfer grilles. What is special about this media in this and if there is could you just sell that for retrofit applications where the transfer grilles are offset?
@@qcmanufacturing hard to believe a fan will completely do the cooling job and eliminate the need for a AC unit. Kind a a stretch to say that…. But then again, I am in a older home with grandfathered efficiency codes that cause this house to not to as efficient as newer ones. Hope I didn’t offend you on a personal level.
@jemilsense3972 no offense taken. Whole house fans are the ventilation piece of an HVAC system. You will still need ac but when it’s cooler outside than inside your home you can in fact turn off your ac system and run your whole house fan. Now if you live in a hot climate like Texas, Florida or Arizona then you would use the fan during the spring and fall and not summer.
Hi I live in an old house in Los Angeles with pretty steep attic but no insulation, will adding an attic fan help cool down the living spaces underneath ? I know it definitely will bring down the temperaure in the attic, but the rooms underneath is what I concerned most, thanks ! I was told that improvement is significant when there is no insulation installed...
Yes, the attic fan will help but I recommend getting insulation, a whole house fan and an attic fan. If you put in that combination it will transform the comfort in your home.
people said that whole house fan creates pressure in the attic and is not good. Is that true? Another question is why install the fan in the attic? why not just install it on a wall so that it directly sucks stale air out of the house? Thanks
The attic is the hottest part of the home. You want to discharge the whole house fan air in the attic so you can push out all the old hot air and introduce cool fresh air. This will keep your home cool.
They work in all 50 states but depending on the region could have different use cases. For instance if you live in a climate zone like Texas, Florida or even phoenix arizona the whole house fan will work great in the spring in and fall but not the summer months. Most people run their ac system 10 months a year in those markets and with a whole house fan you can cut the usage down to 3-4 months. This will also help you save a ton of money and prolong the life of your ac system by doubling it.
On our channel we have an install video for installing roof mounted attic fans on shingle roofs. I would recommend watching that video. Just search shingle on our channel to find it.
@@qcmanufacturing Thank you. I miss spoke. I am trying to figure out how to mount the solar panels to the shingles with out messing up the roof or breaking shingles warranty. I purchased the 40-Watt Hybrid Solar/Electric Powered Gable Mount Attic Fan with Included Inverter
That makes no sense if you’re in the south drawing in humid air, I guess if you didn’t have AC. We had one growing up and it worked in the PNW to draw in cold morning air. But it still gets hot in the afternoon
If you live in a hot market like Texas or Florida whole house fans work great during the spring and fall. Most people in those markets run their ac 10 months a year and you can cut it down to 3-4 months with a whole house fan and attic fan combo.
Yeah, it will keep your attic about an avg of 10 degree difference from the outside temp during the day. So on hot days your attic can reach temps of 140 degrees it will make your attic much cooler and make it easier for your ac cool the house.
