Turn a kitchen knife upside down,it won't cut either. Now that slab after going over it a few times will cut too.The thinner blade will cut better such as a razor blade.

I don’t understand the point of using artificial sinew, it’s just not the thing to use when natural sinew is so easy to obtain and it looks way way better.

Is that because you don't know what art is? Or are you just making up stuff to fit your ideas?

slabs produce some of the nicest looking blades, but I always felt like they take the fun of of knapping. The most enjoyable part of knapping for me is the percussion part, and trying to figure out how to turn a lump of uneven rock into a symmetrical tool. That said, I do love how easily long flakes off off when using a slab.

When I was a young boy here in Comanche county Texas in the very early 70s there was a man who made points in that exact same fashion. He also made fantasy looking stuff, eagles and things using some type of machine. He sold these (GENUINE) Comanche Indian points to the tourist. He had an old gas station here

Everyone knaps for different reasons, when i knap, i dont want to spend 95 percent of the time grinding, id rather be knapping...but im not creating art either.

Amazing work! And I love those "Work smarter, not harder" techniques. For those "But...but...it's not authentic!" complainers, what does that even mean "authentic"? Kenny said it's a flint-knapped obsidian knife and that's exactly what it is. How is that not authentic? If they mean that it wasn't made by a cave man or a Native American sitting in a cave 1,000 years ago, he never said it was.
