that was some fucken amazing riding. say what you will, but no 2 stroke will ever match the deep roar that thing belts out. I'm currently working on my 1979 Honda XL-500s that I've just installed a 97' XR-400R front end on. great video!
Personally, I always thought these were the best years for the RM 125 and 250. I have a friend who, to this day, refuses to give up his 1989 RM 250. He loves that bike and for good reason. I had an '89 RM 125, and I loved it. I was racing a 90 Yamaha YZ 125 at the time, and the day before a big race, I blew it up. My neighbor was selling his RM 125, so I picked it up for an unbelievable $250. I used it in the race, won, and never went back to my Yamaha. That bike handled as if it was reading my mind. That's how well that bike cornered. I ended up selling my YZ, and I've been a Suzuki guy ever since.
I had a 2001 rm250 and it had the perfect low end and hight torque I've ever seen. I sold it t my buddy I instead of my 1999 cr125 cause he was much heavier than me. I decided I was going to buy a new 250 then I got married. Well....that flew right out the window and I regret selling everyday.
AWESOME VIDEO!!!! long live all of the old XR’s! You, sir can ride!!!! I’d love to see someone who discounts the old four strokes stay with you , let alone do it with such finesse. Fine job , my friend! Ride on, ride red!!
I just picked up a 98 xr 400r- and I love this vid, and how lucky to have such a killer course to ride! I cant wait to get out! Keep these vids coming dude!
Just picked up a 98 XR400....its my first foray into dirt bikes (coming from a Harley fat bob and 72 CB750) and super excited to learn how to ride on dirt and to get the most out of the bike. Great riding!
How many miles and how much? Hope it's doing you good. I'm currently on a '15 yz250, but I don't race and I'm on a race bike... Needing something more all round and most likely plated to get some more seat time. Considering xr400r, drz400, and xr650l.
