Oh hey, I'm Brad. Welcome to my RU-vid channel. I make videos about gaming, Homestuck, and other terrible things. My only goal is to entertain you. Check me out!
0:42 very funny but your math isn't mathing, 3000 years ago from when this video was uploaded would be -979, 3000 years from the source video would be -981 and 3000 years from the VC exclusive video would be -985, so no matter which one you consider it's wrong, and this probably just makes it even funnier
This is more of an effort for media preservation, then whatever any major company is doing right now and it’s for Ricky 1. As for the movie itself honestly, I think some of the jokes could have worked such as the women of all ages bit, and then it shows a woman from the Stone Age like that, got sort of a chuckle out of me or so because the concept of the joke could work, but the problem is the execution, same with the bobbing and weaving joke like yeah, that joke could’ve landed, but Bill is such a deranged creature that it doesn’t
I have the same JVC unit, but use the HVR-1800. I have the HVR-1265 as well, but find the 1800 better, specifically for resizing the frame before capturing. If I select 640x480 with the HVR-1265, it crops the frame to size, but the HVR-1800 resizes the image to size, without losing any of the image by cropping. It also accepts 680x480... my current project was the ppv broadcast of Woodstock 99, which was 640x480. But my tapes are 720x480 borders on either side, resulting in 680x480 after they're cropped. But the image is still stretched... so capture 680x480, then trim the borders, leaving me with a perfect 640x480. I couldn't do that with the HVR-1265, or even the USB-Live2. The only issue I'm having, is the JVC's TBC seems to be dropping frames on it's own. I'm currently reading about Subtract() in a thread on Digitalfaq, where the user was able to see which frames are missing by comparing 2 clips, then manually insert afterwords. Hopefully it works. The only other issue... the HVR-1800 requires PCIe that's controlled by the cpu, not pch. On a Z270 board, it works in any slot, but on newer boards, it only works in a x16 slot. I had to buy an Asus board with SLI 2x x16 slots. It works just fine now. 🙃
There is new AI software from companies like Eleven Labs that can clean up the audio much better than any of the tools you used. However, this only works for pure voice tracks because the AI will remove audio (such as music) that's playing in the background. I've used AI noise removal software for live seminars of professional speakers that I recorded on S-VHS in the 1990s and the resulting audio is fantastic.
Try the iQue rom on n64 Edit: I EDIT MY COMMENT, NOT RU-vid, LET ME TYPE MY COMMENT AND ME ALONE! That is to say, I don't want anyone else editing my comment and I will edit it back to this every time it's modified >:(
27:14 the comic would've been better if the trolls did look like this. Disability representation AND more stories of what happened to the rest of Earth? Like did we just forget humanity existed except for like about 7 people?
The trolls already have disability representation, a fleshed out and lore important alien species is far more interesting than more humans, and all the other humans either died from meteors or had different sessions
man i remember my first time reading this intermission, it was so cofusing at the time but it was so cool see the card people beat the shit out of the time traveling pool guys, and then the plot twits the intermission was a part of the story of homestuck was really cool.
these videos are really really good. good luck ever finishing this, tbh, but i really hope u do some day. the amount of effort and attention that goes into these videos is crazy, like i used to be a real homestuck/mspa superfan and even i learnt a lot from these! this series is what i would have loved to have when i first read HS as a little kid, because i remember being super confused about a lot of the more obscure references hussie included. really good stuff man keep it up.
10:03 oh NOOOOO You're telling me that entire running theme is just a play on the gay porno joke?????? Red Miles? Yellow Yard? It's all just multicolored cocks the entire time??? In comic where we have a species that makes that possible as an actual in-universe thing????? HUSSIEEEE? WHYYYYY?!!?
I began my capture journey two decades ago, so I have a JVC SVHS deck, a full-frame TBC and a Black Magic capture card. I always capture to lossless. Since I started early when things were cheaper I've put perhaps $500 in total on this hobby. I'm unsure if vhs decode would improve the quality to the extent that I want to make the investment in time and money. Need to think about that.
High-end conventional captures are still pretty great. Personally, I think you'd hit diminishing returns, but it's cheap enough to try with a CX card that I think it's worth trying. There's nothing to really lose.
@@CadBrad Yea, I'm thinking along those lines too. But I always find it hard to go for the second best... and a Domesday duplicator are quite epensive. :D But yea, I should try a CX or two.
after over 15 years I decided to finally give this movie a shot and watch it and I ended up stumbling on this video, so now I have to actually watch it
It’s really cool to see someone talking about hussie’s pre-homestuck work, but I wish you would have talked about Wizardy Herbert a bit more, because it has some interesting parallels to homestuck
With all the remastered versions by fans out there it would not take much for Nintendo to reach out to these people and bring them on board to do a proper mario 64 remaster. Modern graphics and updated textures is all that it would need. Would be even cooler if you could hit a switch on the map and make it so every painting/map then becomes a different new map with different levels and objectives. Twice the fun.
@@CadBrad I gotcha. I once saw a sports movie called On The Edge that I don't believe has ever been on DVD. In short term, it's basically a running version of Rocky.
@@natedax9946Looking into it, it seems that On the Edge did get a rerelease on DVD, but for some strange reason an entire character was edited out. It looks like the best way to preserve the film would be to use an original VHS copy.
The stick uses standard N64 stick parts. I threw those pristine parts into one of my N64 controllers. The weirdest thing is how warm the iQue gets in your hands.
I feel like I'm hanging for dear life on the edge of the VHS digitization rabbit hole. One little push and I'll fall very, very deep. Edit: I just bought a domesday duplicator
