The facility looks amazing. I have Trio 6 BE at home and love working on them. One observation after watching the video was the lack of visible high quality AC power conditioners and cabling. Its often a weak point on the pro side of things and a part where studios could learn a thing or two from the audiophile worlds. Conceptually is very simple - keep the noise floor low so you don't mask the fine details you are expected to process, don't loose or degrade info in your signal paths, and don't let the signal be changed without your express intent. I have learned it is remarkably easy to wreck what starts out as good audio with crappy power bars, AC cables, wall outlets, and poor signal cables. What I see in the video does not inspire confidence. BTW I have seen people try to condition at the main electrical panel ( Maybe done like that here?) . That never works as there is too much inducted noise captured along the way to the gear for that to be effective. I think they could take this studio over the top with a bit more attention to these finer details in system design. I have spent big bucks on the AC and cabling in my tiny home studio and it makes a big difference. Its really roots and foundational so the investment in good equipment can really shine. Sometimes its not about all the glamourous gear and eye candy.
Sorry Luca, but it makes no difference whether you use the Mix button or the Depth button. In both cases there is only one limit for the maximum db. The dry signal does not get through here.
Mix knob in soothe is not your standard dry/wet knob, it just puts a limit on your ducking. For example, at 30% it will be ducking 3dbs of your signal max that doesn’t essentially mean 30% wet and 70% dry
Can anyone list all the plugins? I recognize a few but some of them are hard to see and I don’t know them on sight. Starting with the very first one where he is comparing waves for phase.
Hello Lucas, regarding your technical training/workshops, really divulging your secrets exposes you to competition. I guess you just provide general information? Where do you stand on this?
Awesome video. I’m doing this now but I seem to lose my 808. Trying to figure out how to maintain the loudness of the 808 while keeping it at -18 using the VU meter. Should I gain everything else down?
Space Control was released over TWO years ago. Why hasn't it been updated yet to be an Apple Silicon Native (Universal 2) AAX plugin? It still shows up as having x64 architecture in the PT Prefs 2 application, which explains why it doesn't show up as an AAX plugin in Pro Tools when it is run as an Apple Silicon Native application.
