@@idronefish Thanks so much. Any other advice would be fantastic. My mates and I are newbies to beach fishing (we usually fish off of boats) so what lures to use, what rigs (from what I've seen from your channel its pretty standard bottom bashing). I've also seen a couple people catch trevally, is that rare or something we should try and target..
40 to 60g lures work well. You can fish again from the rocks at Waddy from the 30th Sep. my best catches have been from beach worm 1/0 hooks, pillies ganged and metal slugs with blue colours. Big tailor at cathedrals. Mackerel and tailor from Waddy Point rocks both sides.
For a feed of quality tasting fish I find beach worm the best. Watch the video where I catch the 74cm Queenfish. 1/0 hook with worm on the south side beach down from champagne pools. It’s a great spot but closed until the 30th September. Oh and outgoing tide best. Tailor early and late in the day also.
It's always been called k'gari for thousands of years, only called Fraser for a hundred by the Fraser family who had no right to, it's Aboriginal land so why would it be named after a white family you retart

Hi Kratzy, feel free to come along to Double Island Point next Friday Saturday and K’gari (Fraser Island) 16th to the 20th September Marloo. Looking forward to seeing you there if you are available.
Hello. It was Snapper closed month in Queensland. To be honest I find it difficult to end such an awesome fish life. I throw fish back 90% of the time. Generally I’ll keep a fish or two when I have friends hoping for a feed.
It's been called k'gari for thousands of years only been called Fraser for only a hundred by the Fraser family who had no right to name it, now go and learn something instead of being a keyboard warrior
Did you see the stress of my next cast :) Lost a drone last year when it wouldn’t release the bait. I’ve just bought a gannet sport release system that has a manual and electronic release. Should take the stress out. Do you drone fish?
Hi Nick. It’s around 300m. The wreck itself is 98m long so generally I fly out 300m to the bow and move toward the stern until I see fish in the water. Once I see the fish I drop the bait.
Hi Wayne. It’s a Tripltek 8 pro. Nice clear screen and they hold their charge well. There is a Tripltek 9 pro now. It’s water resistant also. In one of my videos I dropped it into salt water. Works perfectly:) I had to make a remote holder for it by combining 2 tablet holders. I did buy an expensive holder for it but found it takes too long to set up. Prefer the quick click system. I’ll do a short video on it as I often get asked about it on the beach. Off for a drone fish now 👍
Very nice , you actually show how and what you use and you are a great story teller with heaps of information , thanks for sharing mate , well appreciated
Thank you. I’m going to do a series from start to finish as soon as I get the right weather. The more I fish with the drones the more I realise how much I don’t know. It is certainly a challenging but very rewarding way to fish and enjoy the environment.
Can't tell from the drone footage but I'd be willing to bet that there are plenty of fish around that wreck. Looks like it's North of Indian Head. Is that right?
Love Fraser Island! People make Ngkala harder than what it is. Tyre pressure and momentum is the key. 18-15psi, high range and just keep it steady on the throttle. If it’s hot and powdery, just lower the tyres more.
Awesome video! Have you tried to use polarised filter for your drone? I'm thinking of ordering ones from ebay. I've got the same drone, so just started setting up all gear for drone fishing. What's the maximum weight you'd attach to our drones 0.4-0.5kg?
Hi Jack. I have added a polarised lense to the drone as we speak 👍. Will test it tomorrow and compare it with and without. Good question re weight added. Max tests show just over 1kg so I generally don’t go over 350 grams. I guess for a one off big bait that wouldn’t be an issue. I’d probably use the Swellpro drone though as it can lift over a kilo fairly comfortably.
@@idronefish I just acquired my drone and in the process of setting up a rig. I go fishing in Victoria along The Great Ocean Road, between Torquay and Lorne. Let me know how you like polarised /ND filter and whether it's worth ordering one. Cheers!
@@trade1713 will do. My experience with my Mavic 2 didn’t show much difference. Will be interesting to do a side by side comparison tomorrow with the 2s. I’ll let you know as soon as I’m done 👍
