Ooh yeah it's Non other than de man himself Idd Amin Dada Salongo the Conqueror of the British Empire D.s.o, heavy Weight Champion of Uganda! Born to a Kakwa father and Lugbara mother. In 1946, he joined the King's African Rifles (KAR) of the British Colonial Army as a cook. He rose to the rank of lieutenant, taking part in British actions against Somali rebels and then the Mau Mau Uprising in Kenya. Uganda gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1962, and Amin remained in the army, rising to the position of major and being appointed commander of the Uganda Army in 1965. He became aware that Ugandan President Milton Obote was planning to arrest him for misappropriating army funds, so he launched the 1971 Ugandan coup d'état and declared himself president! Up to now I wish I lived in the Idi Amin Dada era coz he was such a courageous man,Owana too your so funny coz I remember you at Kabalye PTS as a Makerere student under crime prevention training. It good to watch such history coz I didn't know that Kunobwa died,may their souls rest in eternal peace i.e Idi and James.
On this day July 27th 1985 Uganda's president Milton Obote was Overthrown by his Military 🪖! The nation, still recovering from the dark days of Idi Amin’s rule, had hoped for a brighter future under Obote’s leadership. However, those hopes were gradually dashed as his government turned a blind eye to the cries of the oppressed! Sad to see that refugees who killed the children of the fathers and forefathers of Uganda who gave them (Rwandese Refugees) a place to stay and build their lives are being praised by some may be Ugandans or Rwandese who are still hiding in Uganda as Ugandans. For killing Ugandans, taking over the government elected in 1980 by Ugandans and handed over to their brother Museveni who according to many report was also a Rwandan refugee who benefited from the good educational system that was existing in Uganda after independence as well as healthcare and good life. The only way they could thank generosity of our fathers and forefathers was to kill us for 5 years in their war to take over Uganda and hand over to their brothers.
