I know that many classic Fallout fans and RPG purists hate Bethesda for how it handles the franchise, but I think that the development team doesn't have enough credit for managing to transfer the franchise to 3D in a solid way, even if it is using Oblivion as a model. Additionally, because of Bethesda, Obsidian had the opportunity to create Fallout New Vegas, despite the 18-month limit.
