So interesting, Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis is the first pointing click adventure game I remember really getting into and always held it in high regard. It’s very cool to see that It’s number one on this list. I was just hoping it would make the list, I was not expecting it to be number one. I love that game so much and have beaten it in all three ways that you can.

This is the scariest episode in all of Star Trek history. It's even more disturbing to see the crew keep hope alive and keep trying to survive despite the hopeless inevitable outcome. Hope in the face of hopelessness, till the very end. It makes you realize that sometimes you lose. Despite giving it your all. The voice of the disintegrating Voyager Computer is genuinely frightening because it's an auditory representation of entropy increasing towards total loss. The loss of the time capsule makes this more realistic, reminding us that many people have died in vain without any record of their history or struggles. Most people can't deal with it. You have to deal with it, it might help you to avoid a loss.

I agree with #1. And your #3 would make my top 5, maybe even #3. The rest of your list would not make any list of mine. #2 is Day Of The Tentacle. There are so many ahead of what you listed. Full Throttle, The Dig, Flight Of The Amazon Queen, to name but a few.
@vicek83
@vicek83 22 дня назад
Tbh, this list is one of the best ive ever seen. And I think all games here were better rated after the release than The Dig, Flight of the Amazon Queen or even Full Throttle. Gabriel Knight and Grim Fandango are considered in the best adventure game of all time discussions. Myst was the best selling game ever until The Sims has appeared, Machinarium and Gemini Rue are modern classics, and Blade Runner was one of the best and most original adventure games of the second half of 90s. Well, Day of the Tentacle is, of course, also mentioned by many as one of the best or even the best adventure game of all time, but i dont think other games you mentioned are worth it more than games from this list.
@airbrushdungeon
@airbrushdungeon 22 дня назад
@@vicek83 I just don't like how ugly Grim Fandango is. And Gabriel Night, like the Broken Sword series, is just boring. Same goes for Machinarium and Gemini Rue. Myst is beautiful, but the world feels dead. Riven is a little better. I never played Blade Runner so I can't speak to it. I don' give a rat's ass what sold well or what the ratings say. I judge for myself by if the game is fun or not. If you like others to do your thinking for you, you go right ahead. There are plenty of games I find much more enjoyable than those on this list. Like The Book Of Unwritten Tales 1 & 2 plus The Critter Chronicles, The whispered World, the Discworld series, Gibbous, Deponia, Bear With Me, Nelly Cootalot etc.
@vicek83
@vicek83 22 дня назад
@@airbrushdungeon I can agree with the choice of The Whispered World and The Book of Unwritten Tales 1. The humor in Deponia just irritated me, and The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 was a bit boring to me. If this were my list of favorite adventures - I would add Sanitarium and The Longest Journey.

If they were capable of copying a pattern, I hate to say this but another possibility existed. I guess it wasn't thought of, but the duplicate Seven of Nine would possibly have the necessary components to send out a signal to perhaps summon a Borg ship. And as fast as they are, it shouldn't have been long to reach them. A Borg ship finds them (hopefully a cube as they have a massive drone population) and the mimetic beings only need to be "assimilated". After that, it's only a matter of duplicating their DNA to recreate themselves and exploit the Borg''s technology to not only stabilize themselves, but perhaps make their bodies permanent though the Borg nanoprobes as they constantly repair a drone.
@kbanghart
@kbanghart 2 месяца назад
Possibly, but we'd have to assume the Borg would assimilate them. If the Borg were able to tell the silver goo wasn't sentient, they may say forget it. Also, Seven did mention they tried the nanoprobes.

Every Starship Enterprise was 'The Best' that the Federation had to offer. And I'm mixed on the re-christening for that reason and the fact that it Takes away from the Starship Titian-A...it had just saved the Federation and most of the Alpha & Beta Quadrants. This is almost a slap in the face to that ship and crew. To have re-named Titan 'Picard' would have been alright with fans, I think...or a similar ship being named Picard. But...as you said, it was fan service and I understand Terry's reasoning for doing this, I just Disagree.

Always thought this idea was interesting, not being a huge fan of STII -- KIrk having a mid life crisis? Don't see it. Instant KIrk son? Who saw that coming? Fun movie though. Maybe Khan was the best story for the time. I don't get much out of it watching it today, but it made Trek more "mainstream" back then.

An interesting idea, but I think I can speak for most of us when I say it's a good thing we ended up with the film we got instead. Of course, the franchise would continue to regurgitate old TOS plot ideas in later series, especially in TNG and Voyager.
@StupidusMaximusTheFirst

I'm not really a fan of time plots. The problem with time plots is that they are abused in sci-fi, then you could have an episode where something works this way, another where it doesn't and something else nonsensical needs to be done, you could encounter one kind of paradox, then some other episode another kind of paradox, or not at all, or all of them, whatever the writer could come up with. I don't think time plots are that popular with sci-fi fans, as this a cheap mechanic to direct the story and most times it's not well thought out at all, and just anything goes. There could be a few notable exceptions, but most times, whether in StarTrek or in films, this mechanic sucks. When it involves time plots, most times it's cheap, it is almost certain the writer couldn't be bothered, and any attempts for scientific explanations suck even harder, with the odd exceptions of brilliancy obviously.
