I've loved this song for years. Heard Bondy on a college radio station out of Chicago in like '08 and liked the song enough to get American Hearts (2007), When the Devil's Loose (2009) and later, Believers (2011). Always wished he'd play around my neck o' the woods, but not yet.
I discovered Other Lives in 2015 (a bit late, but then I'm always late for everything) My first thought when hearing their tunes was "wow, this is actually real music."
damn, on the cusp of fifteen years....still one of my favorite songs during this time period...thank you A.A. Bondy. I hope to see you play again in Los Angeles.
The electric guitar part during the second verse is one of my favorite guitar parts anywhere. Along with that, the vivid depiction of launching an old truck (or car) over the train tracks in the middle of the night really resonates with my high school days.
I saw them in Baton Rouge round this time, great show. I spoke to a couple of the guys while getting some merch. A couple of years later they played the same venue and one of them called me by name and talked before the show 🤘🏼
Its really sad that songs like that get lost in the amount of recent content and is no longer promoted to new listener. Its a damn shame that youtube works that way. I was under 23 the last time I listened to that song and now at 27, so much has changed and the song hit harder, i'm glad I'm listening to it this morning somewhere in 2024.
This is a great video. As a teenager, Dax Riggs and Jim Morrison helped me to learn my own voice. Impatiently waiting for another batch of new songs to jam from Dax.
