Read the reservoir carefully. Would easily gain that much life. It’s not one life per spell. It’s gain for each spell cast. 1 life gained, 3 life gained, 6 life gained etc
I know the odds were insanely unlikely to hit Breach with 27 cards, but shouldn't Nick Gamble for Demonic Tutor to guarantee the win with Enlightened Tutor -> Breach -> Wheel of Fortune? Especially because Nick also has Silence for any free interaction and no one has enough mana for channel abilities so in the worst-case scenario where Demonic Tutor gets sniped you have Silence -> Enlightened Tutor -> Wheel -> Breach -> Demonic Tutor -> LED -> gg
You have to get sometime that cost less than Sisay’s power. Unless I’m miss something her power was a 4. Not sure how you got a 4 drop that let you untap your stuff. Not trying to be rude in anyway but That’s a pretty big swing of a miss from the whole table to miss especially since she is your commander. Getting to recast her off that play just felt bad to watch and totally set up Aaron to be in the driver seat… Slicer is fine as a commander. Good luck with future content there was a lot of poor card interaction pyrokinese can only hit creatures but it appears that James caught it and Zach gained back his life lost. Zach only paid two for the Demonic Tutor when it should have cost 3 or him playing his land for turn was edited out.
Its wild, the final game streamed starts at 4:21:23 I start the last and winning turn at 4:40:50 and the game finally ends at 5:20:55 digging through an onslaught of responses the game ending turn lasted twice as long as the game up to that point
I was staring at a final parting in my hand and technically I could've tutored for fierce guardianship but Nick mystical tutored for windfall on Alban's endstep and then played sheoldred on his turn so I was waiting for the windfall to resolve but then aaron had it.
Slicer players... who hurt them ? How is that even fun ? I get it, to each his own. For me, if you sit down with a slicer deck, it is the only time I will bring out my Baral deck and make sure Slicer never hits the board and if he does, I will bounce him 😂 then counter him next turn.
I'm pretty sure Nick still has the win after the snipe. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there are still 9 treasures after the Gamble. Spend 1 treasure to cast Silence (no one has enough mana for Channel abilities at this point). Spend the second treasure to cast Mystical Tutor putting Sevinne's Reclamation on top of the library. With 7 treasures left Nick cracks 3 of them to Wheel of Fortune and then cracks 3 more to cast the card he stacked bringing back Underworld Breach which gives Nick 1 last treasure to escape Gamble for LED and win from there.
I was a bit confused on all the rulings regarding this so I asked for clarification from Judge Academy as well. They said that because of 614.12, the metamorph looks at the field when looking for its replacement effect and additionally applies any continuous effects that may affect it. Thus, it sees dress down’s effect and has its abilities removed as a creature before its replacement effect of making itself an artifact.
