It is very hard to be objective with music. But this to me absolutely deserves to be regarded as one of the best metal albums. If i tried to be objective then my top 3 would Master of Puppets, Symbolic and Paranoid in no order.
This album and their last one is my biggest inspiration in music, i would rather die than to trap myself from not being able to listen to this for the rest of my life
Watching this champ go from hip thrusting through Solarfall to headbutting his guitar instead of strumming it was almost my most memorable experience in live music. I didn't care much for the line up change going into Midian. I think the album was ok. I do like this album WAY more with this line up. After that, I just didn't like any of the albums with Paul on guitars until he left. So my COF collection goes from "Bitter Suites to Succubi" then "Lovecraft & Witch Hearts" and then 12 years later with "Hammer of the Witches" on forward.
I forgot how bad the Vice interviewers were, like they don't actually listen to a thing he says, bitterly complain most of the visit and either try to impress him with cringe edgelord behavior ("guide me", stfu dude) or treat him as an amusing oddity.
