I really enjoyed listening to this and was so sad when it finished a bit too soon for my liking. I could have happily listened to the next turn of events, the wedding and their move 😊 thank you for this golden nugget.
I love my evenings with a nice regency story. But...as nice as it sounds to have a man by your side in case of a fall, holding his hand under your elbow to support you, I really wonder why ladies back then weren't able to stand safely on both feet and looking, for example, at church ceilings with their head on their neck or climbing stairs without support. They were apparently in constant danger of falling...
With all the fortune step-daddy dear had, mother couldn't appeal to him for a dowry for her firstborn??? Strangers have done better...Pathetic mother....at least fate intervened and gave her a life of her own
I totally enjoyed this book from the minute I started listening. It is the most absorbing story I have ever heard. Heartwarming, interesting, and just wonderful! I will be looking for more!!
This was a sweet story with a satisfying conclusion (and great foreshadowing if you pick up on it). Took some interesting (at times frustrating) turns but came to as happy an ending as all parties could ask for. Another great narration from CB. Finished about a month ago but forgot to give my final thoughts. Apologies to the author, it was lovely! Thank you!
