Lots of interior guys getting beat up in there for nothing. Put some water on the fire from the outside and then clean up the mess inside safely. It’s called a transitional attack and it works. I don’t really want to hear the crap about “pushing the fire”, it’s mostly bs especially when division 2 is already almost fully involved.
This is a terrible firefighting video i've ever watching so far each and every firefighters looks inactive and lazy it was'nt professional skills compare to european or asian firefighters what a shame on you'' country like USA''😢😢😢
You can debate tactics, rig placement and so forth. But you can't say having a stupid for the boys flag like that on a department rig is professional. I'd be embarrassed.
What is this ; a controlled burn. at near 6:40 no water from this side of structure. Lots of FD personnel. Lots of trucks. No flowing water. Yet ther might be a hose in from another side. Thought I saw a bit of water from inside going out the windows near big flames. Looks like a total loss..... A real scraper. IE scrape the foundation clear of the wooden house.
I'm sorry for some of my comments but I was on a job for 25 years and I see some women children and families and my brothers die we're all trained for one thing take that far at all costs can you see assholes that never served one day on a fire department talk about s*** what they did wrong for every day I was at the apartment I trained every day every day rescue and saving people
Carmen 86 is right it took too long to get water for fire but sometimes I can't be helped you got to understand the water supply situation can't always get immediately he did have 500 guys and his package should you use but not everybody thinks that way

Terrible ladder truck placement. Have you tried putting water on the fire? This virgil guy keeps yapping about the line being in service and the fire darkening down. The fire was never put out and who knows how long the incident was actually going on for. Also, love that they're cutting the roof after the fire is out. What a joke of a department.
As usually you have provided us with an excellant video. Thanks for sharing as I was able to see new trucks various companies had received. Take care and be safe.
You are making yourself look foolish... The first line was advanced into the building at 1:10 into the video And by 3:10 into the video they were already darkening down the second floor fire compartments Not to mention the fact that these are all volunteers
@@briananderson8733 With all due respect I would suggest you try and learn how fires are fought. They were fighting the fire from the INSIDE which is the most effective means to work a fire like this. Watch the second floor windows from 6:36 to 7:10 and you can see steam and water spray out from the interior multiple times.
@@briananderson8733 At 2:20 there's a pressurized line through the front doorway with someone feeding the line into the house. At 2:57 water is sprayed out the far-side second floor window.
Thank god no water was harmed in fighting this fire. Instead of spending training nights cleaning your engine, maybe, just maybe you might want to learn how your equipment works. Absolutely clueless!!!! A neighbor with a garden hose would do more good.
@@Derekva40 All of you phonies say the same thing 🤣 You faux pedigree doesn't negate the dumb things you say no matter how much you pound your fists or stomp your feet.
Question? What if the first in leader pulled to the right curb opposite the fire and use the ladder pipe from the exterior to do initial knockdown ? Contracted to the hydrant on the corner then went interior
When a master stream is operating, you can't fight the fire inside. If you can't go in, you can't locate the source. I was not there, and I have no affiliation with the parties involved. Looks like all responders made it out and home alive and well.
@@michaelknight9189 I am sorry I was not clear that’s what I meant by initial. I am no expert my query was. Could quickly using a master stream have reduced the volume and spread of fire before the interior attack begins ?
@@ajosephbaumhauer4071 I think it could have (although this fire was pretty advanced). It's called a "transitional attack," and sometimes it works great. In this case, you could have done it using an engine deck gun (the fire would have been easy to reach), which would have been a lot quicker than setting up a ladder truck with outriggers, etc.
No, the ladder pipe takes too long to set up. A single hand line might have helped knock down the second story B/C corner, but then that's a line that you took the time to set up and charge outside the house instead of prioritizing a line into the house. We might choose a transitional attack if the outside line could then be used to protect exposures instead of being just a huge time sink that only flows water for 45 seconds.
@@virgilhilts3924 It's literally the job of the ladder chauffer to get the stick up. If you don't know what you're doing or don't know how to properly position apparatus on the fire ground, you shouldn't be driving. There was plenty of spots for proper ladder placement and both trucks managed to mess it up. Second ladder the driver has zero awareness of where his turntable is.
Why is Cleetus holding the hose with no gear on???? And why is the Chief of the Dept. wearing an SCBA??? Going interior is NOT his job. Ladder 2 passed the perfect spot about 20' back. Decent job other than that.
“Cleetus” looks like he’s the homeowner? As for guys standing around? I’m not a fire fighter nor claim to be one? I’m going to take a stab at this one? They might be a RIT crew? The others are changing bottles & pushing fluids. The rest near the end are probably getting ready to overhaul after the bulk of fire was suppressed? Old houses have knob & tube wiring. No fire stops in the walls & balloon construction. I would never buy one because they are death traps. Plus the wood is very old & dry. Kuddo’s to the fire fighters on scene. They had a hot fire on a hot day. I work a hot job in the heat. I appreciate what they do to keep everyone safe!
@@peterarvanitis6497 I wear FR clothing for work. Nothing like the turn out gear fire fighters wear though. I feel like I’m roasting in my clothing. I can’t even imagine how hot it must be to wear their gear? Just putting that on & walking a short bit would tire most people who think they are fire fighters. Can you say heat stroke? Coupled with breathing on supplied air & heavy exertion must be pure torture. Anyone who wears that gear on a hot & muggy day deserves kudos at the very least & pay at the top end.
@@johnclyne6350 I didn't say anything about the guys standing around, because they clearly are the RIT crew. Somebody should've told Cleetus to go stand on the other side of the street. As for knob and tube wiring, it's pretty rare anymore, most houses have been upgraded out of necessity. Certain loan institutions won't give a loan for houses that don't pass inspection.
Keep telling yourself that cupcake... The first line was advanced into the building at 1:10 into the video They fought their way to the second floor a minute later And by 3:10 advanced to and darkened down the involved fire compartment in the rear of the second floor
