I can see your argument about UB vs Blood Shield. But is why taking Bloodshot over UB even worthwhile? Blood Shield is almost none existent now like it's gone back to Shadowlands or further back, it's value is pretty much lost in every autoattack. The value it used to give is minuscule windows benefiting from Bloodshot if ever at all now in 7+ and beyond. FB I take now because I find that having sponge is better than sitting in a risky zone of being dead. I don't always go for what the theory-crafters or steamers cookie. I don't know why they are taking it but top M+ BDK's are currently using UB over BS.
Bloodshot is actually attached to every DS you hit, the shield gets applied/generated pre the DS going off, so you're actually getting that extra damage on every DS.
Brother lol umbilicus enter us is essential in higher keys, as well as foul bulwark with the hero talent deathbringer. You always have full bone shield charges. Blood shield only protect against physical damage and not magic. Therefore the shield you get from it is better than blood shield. Especially with the nerf to death strike and haste. Look at all the high io blood dks on raiderio and their talents are opposite of what you call dumb cuntz. As somebody else said I stopped watching when you started with no perspective and just spewing nonsense lol if you’re new to blood what you said may apply to newer players bc there’s less of a “rotation” compared to playing with the higher key talents. I still pull close to 700k AOE with the talents you said aren’t good lol it’s not a HUGE loss as you stated. Also you’re not going to drop coagulapathy if played correctly.
There are a few things, how many Blood DK's that are playing "high keys" lets call those +10/11 and up? How many do you think are coming to RU-vid and watching videos on how to play their class? Probably not many. But how many BDK's that are doing +2 to +6 are coming and watching guides on how to play? Right now, to be in the top 25% of the M+ player base you need a score of 2k .IO, which if you're someone who gets KSH easily you likely think that is the normal level of player, but it isn't, and I would rather see those players, who actually come to watch guides, who need help, get the right advise around playing their class correctly and using the toolkit optimally re runic economy and cooldown management to form good habits, as opposed to saying take UE, FB straight away cause .IO says so, and any other pillow talents and cover up your miss plays. You would also be surprised in going through logs just how many people don't play correctly and have horrendous coag uptime.
@@Darkmech I get what you’re saying but having a tittle saying “correct way to play blood dk” and calling people cuntz bc they don’t take the talents you’re telling people to take is the issue lol even on a 6 those talents without UE and the talent making camp blood last long is more useful than the damage talents. Especially if you’re are pugging. Even rune tap can be useful, but learning to manage your RP is the main reason most BDK’s die along with sending all defensives and once when they are their health bar go to 1/4. I still watch guides to learn and get different perspectives on how people play even though my io is over 2k. So maybe a title like “beginner guide for blood dk” is more fitting for your commentary.
@@sethcasavant9572 Yeh and that's a fair point re the title. I only did the title to meme nearly every guide I had seen, including beginner ones telling people to take RT, UE and FB, which is just bad, and again people have very strong opinions around UE/RT/FB I generally like to favor the maths and what is evident in logs, other people like to go off feel etc. But it's the internet in the end of the day, some will like the video and some will hate it, I'm ok with that =) have a rad day though mate, appreciate the comment regardless.
Im sorry but rune tap absolutely can save you on 10+ and above. Damage isn't everything. And you dont generate RP when getting one shot. All the top G mentions it as a potential alternative for safe play so definetly not a trap talent.
You'd be really surprised how many times your top G's actually press that button in a key. But also, your top Gs aren't watching wow videos on how to play, nor is their advice relevant for the majority of the wow pop. The top 40% of the M+ pop is fucking 1600.IO, these people are doing 6/7 keys, learning to play properly will benefit them much more than chain hitting RT. Nothing is one shoting you at relevant gear level in anything below a 10, i would actually say nothing in +10 will either, however misplay will get you killed and no pillow Talents will fix rooted gameplay issues.
Sanlayn does more damage than last week but not sure how it compares to deathbringer in damage output. Its still defensively weaker than deathbriner?? Not sure how much the CDR on IBF compares to the passive DR in deathbringer.
I would say Rune tap is great for new people. You know the period were are learning how to play it. then when you have learned it and feel comfortable with the spec then you can remove Rune tap again.
I get the line of thinking as it can act like a Band-Aid in a sense and that's fine, but personally I would rather see people learn how to use the toolkit and be better with their toolkits economy than getting into bad habits slamming rune tap. Only just due to how much HPS and DPS people are wasting by doing so, but obviously, people will have different takes =)
you "can" use rune tap on entering a pack and or your spending time gathering a large pack to help smooth over your hp loss a bit. But, you'll never "need" it. I might use it once or twice in a key when i remember i even have it.
had to pause the vid to tell you your commentary about banging doorknobs and ripping IO elitists as dumb cunts is top notch. oh, the info for blood was pretty good too =)
I'm new and love DK. Made it my personal goal to master all 3 specs. But my main question is: how flexible is this spec? Am I forced to run a certain build and be another copy-paste cookie-cutter player like everyone else or can I still be successful just piecing my own build together? Cuz looking at this and comparing it to the path I was going to go leaves me with more confusion than I had at the start. Like, some of these traits/talents chosen simply don't mesh with my playstyle but if they're required to be able to play the class then that kinda sucks the entire fun out of everything. Why have a talent tree at that point when it's all pre-determined anyways, ya know what I mean? Idk I'm just a newbie trying to wrap my head around some of this stuff.
Yeh it's a bit of a bummer in a lot of ways, the tree really gives a bit of illusion of choice, but as with everything that is number related there is always going to be a "best". By all means if all you want to do is have fun, then play whatever talent set up you want, just know it'll likely be inefficient from a numbers and performance perspective obviously. There are choices but again they are very niche choices, such as Rune Tap which is a prime example of an extremely niche choice talent. There are somethings in M+ like Carnage for example you could potentially take this and drop purgatory, but do you really want to do keys without a cheat? There just isn't that much flex outside niche situations (mass grip, mythic ovi'nax etc) In the class tree you can move a few points but again, not a lot, Osmosis and Death's Echo are 2 choices to make, then generally it's trading sleet out in a raid for something else, and that's really about it.
@@Darkmech Yeah coming from GW2 and FFXIV (over 5k hours in each game over the years) WoW is definitely a different beast to adjust to. For example, Blood DK doesn't care about Death Coil. But in almost every other MMO I've played you *want* to use all of your abilities/kit, it's so weird seeing some that are available just be outright ignored cuz they're *worse* for your spec. Since this comment I've spent more time researching and learning so my experience has improved and I'm beginning to understand the trees better. Really hate having to take Raise Dead (and never use it thus a wasted talent point) just to have cleave in DnD. My frustrations come from Blizzard not wanting to balance/make things cohesive and just half-assing a lot of stuff, not aimed at you or anyone else tbh. Thank you for the guide, it did help at least give me a starting point to grow and learn from as I move forward.
@@K.R.0.W.1.3 if you plan to put 5k hours in the game , don' t rely on casuals guide and go check kyrasis/yoda instead, trust me they will help you way better than this full of crap guide (i have 5k hours on bdk and i pushed high content every seasons, trust me this guide is for casuals that won't put 5k hours on this game, it's a bit of a guide "for dummies")
I did a 10 mists today with the talent set up in the video. This is the whole point, if you're struggling in +5's with these talents it means your rotational gameplay is off by a long way, and that's ok, the point is to fix those issues so you become a better DK. If you bring logs to Acherus, people will help you with that. (if you want if of course) if not, then play whatever talents you want and have fun.
bro 90% of what hes saying in this video is pure bullshit when it comes to high keys, you should not listen to this guy if you're doing 12+ keys , and anyway if you make lower keys, almost everything works so basically his guide stinks of shit he does not take into account that at a certain key level, certain talents that he considers "not necessary" become necessary it's always a mistake to rely on the words of a guide made by someone who has not made HL content, inevitably what he says will be obsolete it's just a guide made for beginners who want to make small keys, but if you want to make real content, it's better to trust what Yoda says rather than this guide, obviously and the dk discord is exactly the same, 90% of the people on the discord don't make HL content so most of the advice they will give you or review logs will be bad advice someone already said to me "look how mediocre his gameplay is" when talking about the only dk who beat a boralus 15: gopnik spoiler; the guy who told me that never made a key higher than a 10, his advice was so crappy that if I had followed it I would have died in the key because he doesn't understand that the numbers are different and that by using the optimal rotation/build to do damage, I would have died in 15 but not in 10, so the optimal rotation in 15 becomes different, for example, i've seen advices like " why would you want to be at 10+ bone shield stacks ? its useless lol " of course if you do 10 keys you dont have to , but in 15+ if you're under 10 bone shield stack in a lot of situations you are just basically dead, if you don' t do top keys you can't understand it , it's these kinds of details that completely change the way you play in small key and high key, and that the guys on the discord analyze as "poor gameplay" because they are clueless, here's an example I can give you cite dozens of other reasons why guides like that and community discord stink like shit, the discord people and the wannabe guide writers who have never pushed r1 are golems, don't trust them so, once again, they do not understand that the difficulty of a 15 and a 10 is day and night, and that it is impossible to analyze the logs of a +15 as you would analyze a +10, if you want real advice, ask those who REALLY play the game, aka the top rio M+ players or the top mythic raiders, not the fraudulent dk discord and their guide writers (some discords/guide writers are probably better than others, i felt like the bdk section from ascherus is particularly full of bullshit but maybe it's the same in every discords I don't know, i've heard that rogues and shamans disc are ok tier and war/hunter disc are even worse than ascherus, but i've never been to since i'm a one trick dk) sorry for the long post but someone had to tell the truth
Its got a lot of bullshit though. The points made in the "misguided" talents section have been thoroughly debunked and the use of these talents have a strong correlation with lower frequency of tank deaths in difficult keys, as shown with mass log analysis. There's a reason most of the good dk players use them and the discord mods that push this build for ego reasons don't make it to the same key levels.
To be honest frost Dk is one of the easiest specs to play. Once you play it for a week you will do it with your eyes closed. Not to mention everyone and their mother is playing it right now so it’s tough to get into high keys if you don’t have a high score. If you actually enjoy it play it but if you’re just trying to play the meta it’s not worth it, it gets a bit boring after a while. I highly recommend unholy it’s a blast to play and aesthetically it’s so bad ass.
@@timmy3211 "Mass log analysis" of what? Can you provide these logs that back up UE not being a complete waste? Or find a log that shows UE didn't cause a tank death and was the only reason of survival? Or is mass analysis just people picking UE, RT and FB cause someone with high .IO said and that means that it's right? This argument made about discord mods and ego is crazy, the game is legit numbers, its maths, you can work it out and see the results from a log.... The funny thing is we actually found a use for UE and it was mythic Ovi'nax, but that applies to how many DK's? And then by the time most bottom level CE guilds get there, the boss/gear will be completely different to now, and you could do it with standard talents. All this niche stuff, doesn't apply to 99% of the player base, so giving them talents that suit those situations is a waste. Better off teaching people to play the class correctly imo.
@@taylorwhite2751 breath spec isnt that easy to play , i'd say its mid tier, but of course obliterate spec is one of the easiest spec if not the easiest, i agree
i still dont get how do peoples with high io do keys with ue tallent and improved vp can you explain it for me how and why becuase you just said those tallents are usless but everyone in the world are using those tallents
@@herestheoneandonly i watched this video, then i watched an ssbane video, and now im on my way home to talent into rune tap because it seems really good
It has its niche uses for sure, but for the majority of players it ends up being a waste of resources. But you can obviously play whatever you want, the aim for me is just to give people learning the class, the right info
