Welcome to SaidoSound! A place where we mostly upload radio jingles, occasional airchecks, as well as make music! SaidoSound is your place for classic radio and other audio assemblies.
The six note melody that drives the jingle at 0:33 (Instrumental Sax Jingle) was abandoned by WABC and was later adopted by KDKA in Pittsburgh, who made it their logo which is still used to this day.
1:46 The "Fun and Excitement" jingle has always been a huge favorite of mine. There's really is actual excitement to the music track and singing. All of these are so well done and fun to listen to.
Alternate future: WFAN-AM (660) and WOR-AM (710) swap their positions on the dial, and the new WOR-AM on 660 changes its name to "66 WNBC" due to the station's affiliation with NBC Radio.
No station can use the WNBC call letters. They are in use on channel 4, the former WNBC-TV. now WNBC (without the TV) So unless the TV station changes call letters there will never be another WNBC radio.
There aren't the versions that actually aired... They were remixed and enhanced by the station's Jim Collins, Dale Parsons and Dan Taylor. I've posted the air versions elsewhere.
yeah.. TM broadcasts were usually in mono, but i didn't know these existed! there are some lyrical and pitch differences in these ones especially.. you mind sharing the ones you found?
@@saidosound Actually, the cuts I have from the station masters were already posted on here by Ellis B. Feaster several years ago. These are the edited cuts as used on the air... in a sampler I made decades ago. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-B8NSx2OJwxM.html&ab_channel=EllisFeaster
@@tcarman oooh i didn't know you made this sampler! epic :) ooh forgot to mention, i found most of these on an index from ellwanger.tv. i believe these jingles are sourced from the WNBC: The PAMS Years CD
@@saidosound That would make sense. As I said, they had to be "enhanced" to give them more of an edge to them. As for the sampler I made... I posted it somewhere and Ellis spotted it and posted it --- which was fine by me. WNBC did have tons of jingles over the years.
