Thanks for this video, I changed to a dual band router, 2.4G/5G and my Growatt went offline. I tried to set it up from the phone up, but it just would not accept the STANDARD MODE setup. I followed what you did in this video and got it working again.
nice overview... looking to add this to my setup... I will add that the batteries will last along time just the capacity will decrease overtime and at some point it is not useful. The best thing is that the Lithium and Iron can be extracted and re-processed into raw materials for a new battery (the last place for this should be your local landfill).. so only needs to be mined once. its like how they make new glass products from returned bottles.
hello , i have a error 304 : AC frequency out range. i try to widen the range but i can't do it. can you help me please . the inverter model is a growatt MAX 100KTL3-X-LV
Thank you very much! I recently installed a couple of Growatt inverters that came with the wifi dongles. After two weeks of frustration trying to get the dataloggers to work, I was about to toss them. Then I came across your video. And yes, changing the default server to the US one immediately solved the connection issue. I added the S/N of the dataloggers via the website, and the Shinephone app automatically completed the setup. Thank you again!
@@wadebrewer7212nope, 50vdc is not enough to kill the average person with dry skin. Obviously don’t touch it on purpose. The whole current kills thing is a misunderstanding. Yes current kills, but voltage determines current.
@justinjja2 how do you figure voltage determines current? Not arguing....asking. If I had my drethers....I drether get hit with 30 amps of 220 vs 900 amps of 54vdc. He had 9 racks at 100 amps a piece. However. All the pissing contest aside. The smart...safe....and responsible way to do work on your system is to kill ALL power. You just don't know. Most arrays these days operate north of 200 vdc. Mine on cloud edge can see 280....its just better off to shut it all down and power it back up. Not worth the risk. I was trying to do some live work while doing my install so the family upstairs didn't have the power off...it was late....I was tired....and I had the wrong fn breaker on...grounded out on the sub panel...needless to say I told the family to deal with it. Shut the whole system down including the main and put a head lamp on. It just isn't worth the risk.
@@wadebrewer7212 V = I * R, your skin resistance when dry is quite high. You can touch the positive and negative terminals of a car battery, with dry hands, and you wont even feel it. Despite that battery being capable of 1000 amps. Tasers are 50,000v and 0.002 amps for a reason high voltage is needed to get meaningful current into a person.
Is your generator an inverter generator or a non-inverter generator? Just wondering the rationale of not using the charging capability of your inverters.
My generator is NOT an inverter Generator. It is a champion 8500 watt whole home propane beast. The Chargeverter does well with the "dirty" power that gen produces.
Can these be used "automatically"... i.e using AGS (Auto Generator Start) to start a generator with the chargeverter permanently connected to the battery and generator. No manual intervention any time. Will the generator bog down on starting etc. IF I had to, I could put my delay circuitry in between the chargeverter and the genny but.... It seems like this might not be intended for automatic operation.
I think that would work, my concern would be the high draw on the Gen before it was warmed up. The Chargeverter does ramp up, but not slow enough to allow the gen to warm up.
its very nice build 🥰🥰🥰🥰i build my own its water proof if i out side and its raining like hell nothing will happing the way i build my i have 1 1/2 pipe for hold with my fan so no rain can get to my fan my 3000 Watts 48Volt i have breaker from my inverter going to out let 2 15A and 20A Breaker
WARNING. Received mine DEAD ON ARRIVAL. Now they want me to only give me STORE CREDIT and some lame excuse that it is NOT COMPATIBLE WITH A 48V LFP RACK MOUNT BATTERY. AND THEY WANT A RESTOCKING FEE?!?! I just want a working unit. What a lame excuse they gave. NOT happy with Signature Solar and probably will not buy from them again.
Mine was DOA... keep your packaging until you test yours out! I'm looking for an automatic transfer switch... my idea is that Growatt will control the inverter, and the ATS will "fail-over" to the grid when the inverter turns off... All the ATS manufacturers won't discuss hooking these units up in this way... they're just selling generators as grid backups... any advice?
I have heard that a module comes unplugged during shipping and if you take the unit apart you can easily plug it back in. I don't know enough about the ATS so give you sound advice.
Any idea what to do when the device status of the wifi dongo says: "Status: Lost" on the dashboard. There doesn't appear to be any consistent way to get the wifi dongo to get detected and connected to wifi but even when I do get it to start blinking blue and have the dashboard recognize it, it is still "lost." I have deleted and try to add it back again under the datalogger, but it gets to the part of being lost and never goes anywhere further. The dashboard says something about wait 5-10 minutes to allow the device to connect, but it still hasn't connected and it has been hours. Any help is appreciated.
On the insulated tool bit interesting factoid I found out that 280 amp hour lithium iron phosphate cells have a short circuit current capacity of 20,000 amperes. Now I've got three Banks of 16s cells connected together so that makes the short circuit current possibly as much as 60,000 ampers talk about having your wrench become an instant incandescent flashbulb!
How are people getting these things before they're even released? I ordered mine last month with a estimated ship date of mid-may. And the thing list says being on backorder now.
@@pawneeoffgrid2614 I did manage to procure one last summer. Have used it several times. Realizing I need a 50kW diesel genset and ten of these babies to charge my battery bank in an hour! One is simply not enough.
Many thanks for this video, Please do I have to configure each adapter on the 4 growatt spf5000es inverters I have installed in parallel? Or do I have to configure only the one on the master inverter while I have them all plugged in ?
Nice brother. Hope this works out well. Thanks for sharing. One thing I found that helps keep the battery banks happy. Was seed heating matts. You can set there on and off temps and they use like 15 watts each. Helped a guy in Canada with this last year. They where in a shed like yours. Temps where below 20 C at times. Not one time did he need to use gas for heat. He did have his racks insulated with some aluminum bubble wrap. Then he was saying he was using about 6 KWH in 24 hrs to keep his stuff safe. This might work for you. Hope all is well brother. Thanks so much. God Bless.
@@pawneeoffgrid2614 ha no, I couldn't *not* click on it. It reminded me of a meme called "two soyjacks". I thought you was imitating it at first glance lol you'll have to Google it
I'm tempted to also buy the same grow watt inverters but after looking at so many other brands its hard to choose . If you had to buy over would you choose growatt again?
Yes I would. I had the Growatt 3000 in a non-insulated storage container for 22 months while I was living in my camper. That thing ran non-stop with zero issues in 100F temps. So far I am really happy with the Growatt products that I have purchased.
Good video it helped a lot. I installed my wifi dongle using the laptop first. But now I’m having trouble setting up the shine phone app. I assumed the “data logger” would already show up in the app, but it wants me to add a “data logger”. When I scan the code, it won’t connect. Do I have to put the blue blinking light back into the solid blue mode? And if I do this will it disconnect everything I did in the original laptop setup? Sorry, for the newbie question. Thanks
My growatt is sso much noisy the fan always runs at full speed and it is loud, is there a solution? or can i configure the RPM of the fans in the monitoring page?
Which growatt is it. Mine is fairly loud only when it has a lot of solar coming in or is out putting a lot of watts, otherwise it is not too bad. Mine are housed in a separate solar shed so I don't really have to hear them much unless I am working in there.
what if the color on growatt wifi can't change? I've tried clicking it 1 time the result turns blue but it's not full, I tried clicking it again but it doesn't work. what is the solution for such problem?
Once I got it set up on the web interface, the shine app worked as long as I log in with the same credentials. If I remember right it took a day or two for things to show on the phone.
just got mine and its literaly the worst piece of SHIT ever. i have worked in IT and have bin busy with IT for decades but this is utterly stupid and poor.
you might mention that the GroWATT Dongle Serial Number is CaSe SenSitIve ... that took me a while to figure out ... COOP the WiSeNhEiMeR from Richmond INDIANA ...
