one of my friends in high school played this solo for their junior year. me and some other people had a running joke of singing the the part when you hit the keys with the shaft of the mallet.
University vibe student here! She’s playing with burton grip which is adept at using mallets two and four for single independent lines rather than Steven’s which likes to use two and three. Both grips (along with traditional) have their own pros and cons and are all super useful. Typically it is more common to play vibes with burton and marimba with Steven’s in a mallet context
I normally don’t comment on videos I’m using to learn a song, but I just wanted to say you impressed my tutor more than I’ve ever seen him be before. This man has met and worked with dci players and even taught in Texas to championship bands, and he is continually blown away by your performance of this piece.
