First you didn’t notice that the incoming natural gas supply doesn’t have a drip-T prior to entering the water heater. Here in California we require a double wall vent pipe (Metal Bestos) extending above the roof line at least 2 feet. Some areas do have through the wall venting if the building codes in that area accepts this type of venting. Also if in a garage area one should have a water heater with a standing pilot 18” above garage level unless they have a newer type enclosed burner assembly.
question should the drain tube suck air in while the heat furnace is in use ? should it only let water out and close , is normal to let water out when machine is off and suck air in when machine is on from the drain tube
If you have an average home (1500 sft to 4500 sft), and live in the frigid north of the US or Canada, then Mitsubishi HyperHeat Multi-Zone is the most inefficient system for you. You are better off installing a Mr Cool Single Zone of Multi-Zone, because Mitsubishi multizone will short cycle frequently (going to ZERO to peak - shutting down and starting up), resulting in energy consumption of over 3000Kwh. Other companies have designed the systems to modulate but not Mitsubishi.
@@semajd5995invest in a two stage or variable speed heat pump. If your finances are a little tight and maybe cannot afford those. May want to consider a single speed heat pump with electric heat strips. However it would be best to speak with your local HVAC contractor
Depends where you are. In Quebec, Canada, the electricity is cheaper than gas so makes more sense to get electric car and heat pump. You need to check what makes more sense for your area and situation.
currently have a 96% efficient gas furnace and wondering if this will improve the cost of heating / cooling the 2800sq house. also what's the cost of getting this system (wondering about the return rate)
I subscribed now when are you showing how you cleaned the screen filter on the ao smith and state select.? Water heater. One of the worst ideas anybody ever came up with for a water heater.
Yeah I'm thinking that's my problem.. filter... Replaced the pilot assembly and thermostat control valve and pilot continues to go out .. sometimes stays on then it's out a few minutes later.
I came across Compass Heating and Air Conditioning while looking at RU-vid videos about Daikin brand Heating and Air Conditioning systems. I watched many videos from vendors far from home saying good things about Daikin HVAC systems. Then on RU-vid I saw a video from Compass Heating and Air Conditioning near my home. I watched Mike take the viewer on a tour of his showrooms many Daikin Models. I knew I found the right place. I called them because I needed to replace a 25 year + heating and cooling system that my wife was stressed about relying on for another winter. Mike the owner of Compass Heating and Air Conditioning came to my home Monday and the next day they installed a Daikin Fit heat pump and 96% Daikin Furnace. The install crew of 3 persons was lead by another Mike (not the owner) and not only was he completely customer oriented but he had complete awareness of what each person on the crew was doing. Also he inspected their work and made sure it was finished to his standards. One of the RU-vid videos I watched stated the Install was as important as which manufactures system was installed. I have A/C and refrigeration training from years ago and feel confident enough to say Compass Heating and Air is the company you could trust to give you what you pay for because of my flawless install.
It's actually Amazing that this wasn't a "THIS is what Killed an Entire Family" Video! Right? But, did any of the people living there say they were Sick 😷 Or had Symptoms of Poisoning Breathing in all that Invisible, Oderless, Tasteless, Deadly Gas for such a Long Time? 🤔
If you still have this channel I have a question about the aprilaire 800..when mine heats up and distributes the steam, I keep hearing a rumble spit and sputter noise as it enters the supply duct...any ideas what it could be? Thankyou!
Good morning, B H. I’m not sure about your specific situation, so I will give you some ideas and points regarding the Aprilaire 800 steam humidifier. First, this humidifier needs to be supplied with cold water to the inlet. Second, if you have had this installed recently, ensure that the manifold in the ductwork is not directly below any supplies from the main trunk, as this will typically result in steam being seen from registers in the living space. Additionally, there are two canister types; one for standard water and another for water which does not have enough minerals… the canister should be replaced with a new o-ring (comes with canister) and any sand/ debris cleaned from the water valve at the beginning of each humidification season. Hopefully, this helps you isolate your issue. Have a great day!
@@compassheatingandair thanku so much for all that insight! I'm not sure my current HVAC guy knows what hes doing, lol so I was lucky to come across your video! I will pass on this info to see If we can correct this issue, thanku again!
Water filters/ conditioners are not recommended with the steam humidifier, as the minerals in the water help with conductivity during steam production. If you have naturally low conductivity Aprilaire does have an alternate cannister to provide proper operation. One additional note: steam humidifiers should always have a cold water source for the incoming water. Hopefully, this helps. Have a great day!
The Daikin One does not have batteries. I would recommend resetting the power to the furnace, as that would reset the thermostat also. If you still have a white screen, give your installation contractor a call for service.
@@compassheatingandair Thank you. I did that last night in desperation. I pulled it off the wall even though I couldn’t find any instructions on how to remove it. It did reset and everything is working fine. Before that it was behaving very strangely, cycling through between temperatures with erratic response to the touchscreen and zero response to the deal. I’m not sure what would cause that. We did not have any power outages but it has been in the low 20s and of course it happened on a weekend holiday when the dealer was closed. Thank you for your reply. After we pulled it off the wall we realized there was no place for batteries.
For a remodeling project (ie, ceiling drywall already in place), does the cut out needs to be bigger than the unit and than patch up the remaining opening after installation?
Typically, there is no need for drywall work after installation ; however, every house is different, so I’d recommend talking with a local Diamond Contractor.
Steve, there are a lot of considerations like size (capacity), model, materials region etc. Check this article on our website; I hope it helps with your questions. Have a great afternoon! www.compassheatingandair.com/cost-of-ductless-hvac-near-hoffman-estates-il
Got this unit, 15 months later have an L5 error code. Guess I should of stuck with something older with all the bugs worked out. Glad I don't live in an extremely hot or cold climate area.
Thank you for the video. My question is when a home has 10" ceilings how is the homeowner suppose to clean the filter every month? I'm considering a mini split but the monthly cleaning worries me. I don't want to be teetering on top of a ladder.
Thank you for checking out our videos! I remember the day this video was recorded. The outdoor temperature was predicted to be -13F (the rated Mitsubishi temp) however, that did not happen until well after dark. I took pictures of the temps at the units and then did a quick video to showcase the phenomenal heating ability of modern day heat pumps.... particularly, ductless low ambient systems. I scrounged up a picture of the information you seek on our Pinterest page. pin.it/1H35gtj
@@compassheatingandair I was able to remove it. It was actually pretty easy. Thank you so much. Once I cleaned out the water trap everything is back to working.
Unhook all pipes 3 on top one on button. Squeeze two tabs, tilt to clear pvc tubes and slide out (mine from top). You don’t cut anything. Look for pinch tabs and know it comes out easy after tilting/aligning.
