This kayak is almost perfect (very light and confortable) but it need a bow and stern to be a "touring kayak". It can be made with the drop stich floor . Zelgear in Ukraine make inflatable kayak with this design.
I took my bladder out and it is so hard to get it back in. I'm not clear why the design is has two small openings instead of just one large. Also, the valve is leaky even after patching it.
COMPLETELY UNIMPRESSED with my new Aquaglide. The pump has a gauge but it doesn't show the air pressure when you complete the downstroke. TERRIBLE SUPPORT, TERRIBLE MANUAL.
Try doing that with the Aquaglide Chinook in the gardn, ie without a nice table. No strap suplied. Then feeding it into a top opening bag, not a nice fully opening one like yours.
They don't either. I asked their rep two days ago. He said, "There's no way to measure it. You just have to 'feel it out' and inflate until they feel firm."
Peace… I’m a owner of a aquaglide 130 . I experienced 2 leaks due to abrasion I tried to repair as instructed multiple times but failed. I contacted AG for help / support and was told they didn’t want me to send to them for repairs however AG sent me a new kayak ( I was still under warranty) . Thank you AG ! Here’s the thing IMHO these inflatables aren’t as tuff a product as marketed and the repair to them is very iffy. IMHO…Peace… hard shell is much better !!!
Thank you for this! I've got my eye on a Blackfoot, and had no idea of the various options. I like the idea of the fin-mount because it uses existing mount, but I suspect you'd have to be careful while beaching. If price is no option, the stern-mount with foot steering is probably the best option. Again, thanks!
Any idea what that adapter at 54 seconds is? It looks perfect to slot a bimini rod to so that I can kayak with a canopy on. Or do you manufacture an adapter that could hold a bimini rod like the one found on the Hobie product?
I own a Blackfoot160, and it is my 4th year. I enjoy it as Often as I can, with my wife, but it is easy to use it as a one person kayak. It is strong, extremely stable and fun to use. I selected the Blackfoot serie for his fishing possibilities, and find it, a very good chose. It is the exact size kayak that meet my needs (then and now). Around Quebec city (canada) we have a lot of rivers and lacs to play on.
No paddle holders, I just use a leash. The 130 is a large boat for 1 person, there's plenty of room to stick your paddle if you're fishing or something and want hands free.
I’m on the same quest, I have the yak attack switch blade and garmin striker 4 base attached to a light mount switch, it fits but is too short, it pivots side to side without a longer rail like in this video. Will a longer yak attack rail just screw into the universal mount using only 4 screws?? Maybe that’s what they did here.. want to chime in @aquaglide
For my lowrance fish finder, transducer is attached to the yakattack switchblade attached to mighty mount plate on the side. For the fish finder I prefer mounting it on the center console plate using the yakattack fish finder mount with locknload attached to yakattack mightymount plates. Works great for me.
I'm looking at adding a bixpy to my chelan 140 as a backup to paddling. I'm concerned about how well it would act as a fin for tracking when it's not in use. Has anyone tried this?
