I think there are not enough IOS machines around in China or at least where you are. But thanks for doing this test, as I'm considering to buy an apple phone and air tags just to use it to find my car
If I have to start playing games like that, I have to question what the Airtag is good for. I think this reviewer just saved me from making a worthless purchase.
maybe you need to stick the airtag outside of the car to improve it😂

Interesting that it can‘t even get a BLE connection from 10m away. For UWB, it‘s no wonder because the propagation just ist terrible especially for low-power devices.
To be fair, shouldn't the Airtag work for everybody? And it didn't. The reviewer demonstrated clearly that the Airtag is virtually worthless for finding one's car. He saved me $30! Thanks!
I hid an airtag in my Jeep just before I took it to the repair shop last week. I am able to see if my car is inside the building being worked on or if it is just sitting in the parking lot.
If your iPhone is connected to car Bluetooth, apple Maps automatically saves parking location. Although that might not be useful in a multi story mall parking lot but out in the open its pretty nifty feature. For precise location, apple uses U1 chip which depends on ultra wide band. So the weak signal or no signal refers to that. And NOT your network signal
It runs by bluetooth, not your data signal. Also bluetooth signal would have a hard time in structors so if you're on the wrong floor, it won't see it. You might have a better chance with a Tile because it's 100 yards.
Thanks for all the information about the "Signal". We will be doing it again in an open parking lot. The aim is to test whether the Airtag can help us to find our car in a parking lot.
For the love of god delete this video please, and read more about how AirTags actually work! And while you’re at it .. please change the name of the channel, because a “geek” should understand the tech/gadget he bought.
The signal strength shown on your phone is the cellular signal strength. It’s not the Bluetooth or ultra wide signal emitted by an AirTag. That signal strength has nothing to do with your distance from your AirTag. You would have had much better results if your car had been parked in an outside parking lot rather than underground. However, my experience is that to pick up the Bluetooth signal you need to be within 15 m (50’) of the AirTag.
You misunderstand entirely how AirTags work; they don’t have a SIM card in them, so being on 5G doesn’t help you. They use Bluetooth and the U1 chip, so the range is about 30-50 feet; you will have also noticed that during set up, there is no ‘Car’ option (it’s not designed for that), also. If you “lost” your car, someone else’s iPhone would need to come in 30-50 feet of the AirTag, which is unlikely if it's inside a car. If you want to track a car, you need to buy a tracker with a SIM card in it (look on eBay), and you need to pay for service on it, not a $29 AirTag.
It’s trying to connect to your air tag via Bluetooth so has nothing to do with phone 5G or 4g. But remember things can block blur tooth signal like metal or concrete. Ur moving around to get close enough for that range
