It's neat how everyone sees something a little different at the show.... you can't be in all places at once. That's why I like watching other's videos of the show. Thanks for sharing your perspective!
The opening scene reminds me of something i haven't remembered in a looooong time. I believe it was back in the late 70's that my uncle Jasper told us about the time he was a young man working equipment like that, he was wearing his coveralls and looking all farm handy one minute, and a split second later he was standing there half naked. Careful with those big drive belts guys.
I went to this airshow it was a great time love the profomances plus shed some tears during them I had couple of friends in the air force that passed away . God bless our men and women in all military branches
I went both days, the sun was brutal, but it was an awesome show. They definitely need more shade or at least a bigger shaded area, I knew it was a grass field but didn't know it was all grass. It was still worth the 5 1/2 drive from NY to attend the event.
We managed to dodge the worst of it. Everything got damp (humidity), but not rained on. We had waaaaay more stored power than we actually needed, which was great.
Nope. This was all HF. All but one contact was in the 20m band (~14.25Mhz +/-) Typically repeaters are on VHF, UHF, and up. (50MHz ++) There are some repeaters in the top end of HF, but they are not all that common. Repeaters are used in VHF, UHF, and up as those chunks of the RF spectra are more line-of-site. The repeaters help get distance, over hills, etc. whereas HF propagation hug the ground a bit and can more easily be bounced off of charged layers in the ionosphere. If you do a search on radio propagation you will find a number of useful videos on how it all works.
51:08 The roller really doesn't like wet grass, it slips and gets stuck. Usually if you had at least one wheel on packed gravel it was ok, but there was so much rain so fast it was getting stuck like that just trying to move around the steamer area between parking and picking up water from the tanks.
The men who sat in the seats of those 100+yr old tractors, who operated the machines that worked the fields and built the roads, exposed to every sort of harsh condition for hours-on-end, will always have my utmost respect!👍
That roller isn't too bad to actually use for road repairs, at least when it isn't soggy out. Ever since the club bought it the members have been driving it around during events improving the roads on the grounds with it.
Excellent footage! Regardless of the rain I had a great time. Rain or shine I was behind the wheel of one of my tractors. The garden tractor parade was super fun! Thanks for sharing!
Nice video, too bad it was so wet Saturday. Nice catch on the roller being stuck. The Lego man is mine, I didn't put the sombrero on him Thursday or Friday as I didn't want it to get wet, so Saturday I made the mistake of trusting the weatherman.
It was getting so wet that the roller ended up shutting down early that day. Losing traction just getting out of the parking spaces is a pretty good indicator of conditions unsuitable for it.Later on it started carrying a bucket of ashes on the back for use as traction sand to try and help it along.
I had to Google ENSO. Is this what you mean? www.weather.gov/mhx/ensowhat#:~:text=The%20El%20Ni%C3%B1o%2DSouthern%20Oscillation,and%20eastern%20tropical%20Pacific%20Ocean.
Wow! Impressive! An actual auditorium. The band is dressed up for the performance. Respectful and polite applause from the audience without whooping and hollering. Superb musicianship! On top of all that, as evidenced by the other uploads to this channel, this band can march with good diagonals and a rocking and crisp cadence. Thank you for sharing this excellent performance!
