A soccer final match can last up to 120 minutes. How would the chrono be configured if a soccer game went to overtime? How do you set the clock to 100 so that it reaches 120 minutes?
At the moment I don't believe this is possible? Since you can do mm:ss (m = minutes / s = seconds), or hh:mm:ss (h = hours), but I sent a request to the devs to see if this could be in an update. It is possible maybe someone in the community found a workaround for this since I have seen soccer scoreboards be posted in the discord server, but I don't think they do up to 120 minutes, or at least didn't feel the need for it. *I'd ask the discord server community (invite in description) for help if that is possible or what they did differently At the very least, put your suggestion in the Telescore discord server and maybe others will ask for the same thing. For now I just asked the developers if it's possible or a way to include it for the future, but no guarantees it gets put in an update.*
If your asking how to make the timer count up (like in Soccer / Track and Field), there should be a stopwatch toggle button when you select the time display button. This will only apply individually to the ones you select, so you can have one timer count down and another timer count up if you desired.
You can add your own sound effects (not provided with software so you must use your own) for when time expires. In the newer versions of Telescore, you click on the "Time Display" component inside your editor view, scroll down on the properties to "Clock Properties" and there is an option called "Buzzer Sound". Click on the three dots then find your audio file such as a buzzer or siren sound effect. Then when that time component goes to "0:00" the sound will play. If you want no sound effect after you added one, just hit the "Clear" button. If you have any additional questions go join the Telescore community discord server.
As of now the only way to output this to another screen is to connect your computer to the device, then move the scoreboard over to that screen. It is do-able, but it requires you to connect your PC at the moment to have the big screen act as another monitor.
The Telescore software does not include the Retro Scoreboard V3.5 font. That is a font I made on my own with a website. I believe I posted the font somewhere in the discord server for Telescore but can't remember.
What do you mean by "format"? If you mean the telescore file that I used I did not release that and its outdated anyways if I did. If you mean the background image of the scoreboard and custom font I made then that is in the Telescore discord server.
Hi bro! I have a question: how do I change the clock speed? How can I make it count seconds faster? Using the "clock speed" option, you only change the speed at which the clock is updated.
Only difference between my setup and basketball would be having a point button for +1, +2, and +3 in reality. Watch the newer tutorial videos I made, it will help explain more.
Go to the discord server and send a screenshot of what it looks like when you try to open up telescore. Does it think it's a virus or suspicious app due to an anti-virus not recognizing it? Or is it just not opening up at all?
Looks pretty sweet! I'm going to try giving it a whirl this weekend for my uni's soccer broadcasts. Tests so far have been positive! Would be nice to not rely on screen capture within OBS in a future update.
@@ha0511kr Yes, for the University of Calgary, and you can see the highlights up on the University of Calgary Dinos RU-vid Channel. I'm using Telescore (at soccer) to generate the scores, period, and timer (being able to add an image is super helpful to line everything up...and I love being able to use custom fonts) over a black background, and then in OBS, just screen capturing and using a luma key to get rid of the black background and overlay the text over the semi-transparent scorebug banner image within OBS. Telescore has been great so far over 3 games this weekend! Just wish there were some easy way to do it without screen capturing and passing the alpha transparency into OBS directly. Honestly not sure the technical limitations in that. Maybe something like NDI or local web source? Having used Tricasters, Wirecast, Vmix, and now OBS, I think I prefer this current workflow (still need to figure out a better way to do replays within OBS). Crazy how NVENC encoding leaves my CPU at less than 1% while streaming, recording, and replay buffering in 1080p30. Overall though, really love your work! Super impressive, and really shows how a few indie devs can do a better job than corporate devs as there's really no good scoreboard solutions for what our league requires without spending many thousands of dollars and fiddling around with licenses.
Sorry for late reply. Technically you can but you'd be relying on Text Files instead of the direct speed of Telescore. I have an old tutorial on my channel that shows how to use text files but there is a downside to this method. OBS does not update Text Files as quickly as Telescore updates the time. So there will be instances where the clock skips seconds or might look weird in speed because it is limited to how quickly text files would update. I heard there is a way to edit OBS settings to make text files update quicker than every other second but I have not tried this yet (and I am not sure if it'll cause any performance issues if you do). You can probably find tutorials on how to change the text files online and see if that is an easier method for you than relying on screen capture.
There are two ways you can accomplish what I did on my end for OBS. #1 - Use the pop out tab (located at the top of the window above the "tabs") and have OBS look at that specific window #2 - Have OBS look at the entire Telescore Window Tab and then just crop it out so only the scoreboard is showing and not the controls. If you have any other questions, join the discord server and others may be able to respond in real time.
Is there any way that I can have a transparent background when I capture the window from OBS. The scoreboard i wanted to do is not in a rectangle shape so I can crop it properly. Thanks again for the tutorial
**If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask in the discord community linked in this video description!** As for your question, what you can do for a transparent background for OBS would be to add the things you want to add into TeleScore, and then Chromakey it. What I'd recommend doing is, add in your Scoreboard background images (the graphics) into TeleScore and then add in the components (time, points, etc.) on top of the graphics. Then you can change the tab background color. I'd recommend doing lime green (although you can really do any color you desire) and then use a chroma key effect in OBS to get rid of the background color and make it transparent in OBS but keep your desired design. **The OTHER OPTION (not recommended but is a good backup option) would be to add the graphics into OBS and then just use text files that are controlled by TeleScore (downside to this though is the text files only update every second in OBS so the clock will not be "smooth"). ** If you need help on how to do the 2nd option, I recommend you watch the "[OLD] TeleScore Tutorial [Team Attribute Component + Text/ImageFile Output Setup] Video
***IF YOU ARE NEW TO TELESCORE, I RECOMMEND CHECKING OUT MY 3-PART TUTORIAL PLAYLIST AS THIS IS AN OLDER TUTORIAL VIDEO*** ***This was originally posted on September 6th, 2022 as an unlisted video. However since I made this public just recently it unfortunately changed the upload date. This is NOT a new tutorial*** Since some people in the discord were asking about how to use the Team Attribute Components and Files, I made this video public.
When selecting the clock component, the properties tab on the right should have a setting for counting up known as "Stopwatch". Check that box and it'll count up like Soccer.
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by the main tab is also open. But the main tab can be minimized, and the Pop Up Tap can be side by side with your OBS on your monitor if you desire if you resize the windows to be next to each other. The only downside at the moment I can see you having the pop up tab open and OBS side by side is, if you resize the pop up tab the fonts and buttons resize itself awkwardly, and would probably not look good on stream since some of the fonts get resized when the pop up tab is not full windowed. It doesn't have this effect though if it is minimized however since the window is still fully windowed and isn't compressing the design. If you have a video or photo example of what you exactly want, then join the discord server in the video description and post there, and the developers can give you a better response so they get a clearer picture of what you want for your setup.
Actually I just realized it started doing this right now, not entirely sure why it is doing this lately since it wasn't doing this before. I contacted the developer. For now just join the discord server and say that this is something you want fixed so the devs know more people are experiencing this.
Would like to see a video using a score bug like u see on ESPN or a standard sport broadcast . Something small at top or bottom of screen.. great software and video…
Thank you for your great video. The only thing that I can't add the ScoreBoard to OBS on MacOS as there is no Popup Tab Name in Windows Capture properties. Any ideas how to solve it?
I am not a mac user so not sure how different OBS is on mac so not sure if this is more of a mac OBS issue, a mac Telescore issue, or human error. However what you should do is make sure you click on the scoreboard background (not a component) and then enable "Pop Out on Start" for the scoreboard tab you want. Make sure that window is maximized, and then at that point add in the Window Capture Source should have that as an option for it's properties. It is possible that in OBS, you opened the Window Capture properties before the scoreboard was in pop out tab mode (meaning at the time you opened properties, there was no separate scoreboard window). If that is the case, then the option isn't there because you opened up properties before the window was its own thing. If that is the case, close the OBS Window Capture source properties, then re-open the properties of the Window Capture Source on OBS so it refreshes the list of tabs and windows. If this didn't work, join the discord server in the description of the video, and you can get help from the Telescore community and developers.
Please watch Part 3 of the tutorial to see how to add in an image. If you are having technical issues with Telescore, then please join the Telescore Discord Server in the video description where you can get real time help from other community members in real time.
I recommend watching the other two tutorials I have posted on this channel. It teaches you about what each "Component" does such as timers, counters (points), etc. Once you figure out what each "Component" does in the software, then you can understand how to create a soccer scoreboard. Which is really just one timer component, and two counter components for the goals. Then just rewatch this tutorial to see how to get it onto your streaming platform of choice (if you are using it for streaming). If you need additional Help join the discord server in the description of the video for community support.
I sent a question to the developers asking if it is possible to use XML and am currently awaiting a response. If you want to ask other questions in real time then I think it would be best to join the Discord Server to ask other questions like this to the developers directly. However, what I do know is that you can either output this by using a text file (which has issues with some platforms like OBS since it only reads text files every 1-2 seconds) OR you can do what I do and change the background to green and chroma key it. The program itself is accurate with the timers which is why I prefer the pop out tab + chroma key method. I do remember development talks of spreadsheet support in the past, but I am not sure if there is currently any way of doing that as of now since I did not code the project.
The other tutorials are on hold for now since I have other stuff going on that is making it difficult to find time to do it. The other tutorials would be explaining what each button does and how connections work. For now if you need help, join the discord server and ask any question you wanna ask related to the telescore software.
