If you go one more wrap on the overhand 'Granny Knot' before dropping the lure through the loop, it increases your knot strength significantly.

This knot is easier for me to tie these days at 74 years old. Arthritis in my hands has become to painful for some of the other knots. I also like the old barrel knot. I've never had these knots fail me even when fishing for Albacore and Yellow tail in in California.
