Masterful sound. Ernst Eichner's symphonies were among the most popular of his time, published almost simultaneously in Paris, London and Amsterdam (30 - symphonies, 1770, 1771.). Eichner tried to create his own style by incorporating elements of Italian, French and German (Sturm und Drang). However, Eichner died early... Haydn only had several symphonies printed by Gosek in Paris in 1778/9, until then not a single one had been printed. A.Mozart was familiar with Ernst Eichner's works, he performed them in salons.
There are two early concertos in manuscript, the 1812 concerto in D minor and the Eb concerto from 1812-14, and two published ones, Piano Concerto in F major, Op 28 and the A minor Concerto Op.214, published as Concerto no.1. He also composed 7 symphonies.
Thank you, Orchestra and the many soloists and Zideneck Adam with your clarinet masterfully played "but most of all to Adalbert Gyrowetz the person most responsible for bringing this wonderful composition here to enjoy!!
Super good recording quality, even as a mere video posted on RU-vid... only Pepe Romero has the versatility and prestige to get this kind of invitation from what could be the greatest chamber string orchestra of modern times.
This piano concerto is so underrated, but for that matter, so is all of Godard's music. I have loved his music for many years, and never get tired of listening to it. It's to bad this and all of his music never gets played in the concert halls. To me I find him to be a top notch composer. All I can say is, this piano concert is outstanding. Very beautiful. Thank you so much for uploading this Magnificent recording for all to enjoy.
Thank you very much. I agree with you, Godard doesn't get the attention and recognition he deserves, but I can say again that this concerto will stay in my memory for a long time with its attractive and dramatic ideas. I hope it will also remain in the minds of today's audiences.
