Mixing Coco Coir next to your break area? You've literally got people eating right next to dusty coco coir being mixed... that seems safe for the employees... No less, how about your plants? You think Inert Coco isn't going to take on mold spores coming from that refrigerator? Refrigerators, especially when used by many people, are literally bastions for bacteria and mold. Those spores are looking for a clean carbon source and you're providing it by mixing the Coco Coir right next to the fridge. Otherwise, awesome plants and everything. Just some food for thought if the MG is reading...
You're completely wrong. They grow so fast because the nutrients are readily available to the plants at all times, more oxygen at the root zone, and less energy is spent mining for nutrients. Every growing style has its pros and cons. Hydro is really fast, but you get a hydro taste. Organic tends to produce more resins and terpenes, but grow slower. Inert medium like coco/peat is somewhat a hybrid of both. Any one of those methods produces really good bud if you know what you're doing. I routinely share my salt-grown buds with people who grow in living soil and I'll tell you this, you can tell the difference between salt-based and organic, but the quality difference between mine and theirs isn't there. Grow however you are comfortable with and get good at it.
Thank you for the fascinating journey. Should you read this... what do you use to treat fungus gnats? I've started growing no-till, living soil and ... wow... the things that move into your garden!!:-) ... I know they come in from outside and find their way there. I am just curious as to what you use or recommend... as I'm not a bug person!!! 😁
Research beneficial nematodes. They’re basically assassins for your plants. Releasing these and maybe some predatory mites will keep all the bad crawlers in check. Just don't use chemicals on your soil, they will destroy all that nice microbiology you have going. 🌱💚
Veg with hps? Not mh? I also veg with hps and I love it. Hps is an amazing light, especially when you breed and pollinate. Seeds always turn out big and black, clones in 4 days the way I do it.
Just coco huh??? Not much of a compost for being a "Professional" cultivator... Coco is clean but no nutrients... Need some hummus soil from Alaska, Oregon, or Washington... Bat guano... Perlite...
All that the plants need is in the nutrient solution that's given to them on a daily basis. The coco only provides an inert base for the roots to work through and support the main stalk. This is basically hydro, without the buckets.
