You guys are wild. I guess with enough water yall are able to get over lots of the wood from the 2016 fire. Hiked this section of the trail and so many blow downs
Felt a little weird at first, but I had never paddled it and wasn’t outfitted great. Once I got used to it towards end of run it was great. Felt like a stinger fused with. Party braap.
@@SethMcStouts Cool. I hiked around and looked at a lot of those runs on Lanier years ago and most felt like they were a bit too one shot or crazy like Glade to get out and do many of them.
Ya dude , I never really had done the Cartecay much either so I feel like when that’s at a good level and you hike up and do clear Creek. It’s actually a pretty solid day.
The Tallulah is released on, and you can legally run it about 10 times a year ( if you are a class 4/5 boater). It’s very illegal to run if you don’t do it on a release date.
Seth-- any chance you could shoot me your phone #? Saw your amicalola instructional video, and was hoping to pick your brain. Thanks! Alexshorter@gmail.com
+kyle marrujo At 1.1 it would be a long day and hard on your boat due to it being so rocky. It depends on what type of sit on top but just the average 12-15 foot flat water sit on top without knee straps would not be advisable. It it were a torrent with knee stapes I would say go for it.
The time it takes to go down is based off how high/ fast the river is. I would say at 1.5 it would take 3-5 hours. Knee straps would be good to have for a lot of the rapids.
+kyle marrujo My buddy and I did it this past weekend, him in a whitewater kayak and me in a 14 foot canoe with gear. The level was around 1.2 and it took us about 6.5 hours to do the upper and the lower. We camped after split decision so we split it up into two days. The 6.5 hours includes some scouting time and me going in a few times. Hard to maneuver some of those rapids in a 14 foot canoe.
Andrew we did the paddle out on this day which goes pretty fast at high levels, there is a road you can take to get back in there so you can take out after the last rapid. I have a nap but I'm sure you can find one on line. Also depending on the season I think the gates are closed to assess the roads
