I’m really excited because this is my first RU-vid video, and I have had the dream to create this channel for quite some time now! My name is Ashley, and I am a chemist who loves make-up, skin care, and all things beauty related. I have a Master’s degree in chemistry and am currently working toward my PhD in chemistry. I wanted to create this channel as a way to bridge my two passions of cosmetics and chemistry. On this channel, I will explain the ingredients of beauty products and review these products based on their wear-time, effectiveness, cost, safety of ingredients and more! I am truly skeptical with the paraben-free narrative on marketing to appeal those who skipped chemistry class at high school. If they don't contain parabens, their products will degrade faster and will harm people's skins with all the microbes accumulated or preservatives worse than parabens.
Thank you for a great video to start out with. There are so many lessons you presented in this video that a lot of us don’t realize or think of. I believe it can present ways that every one of us can take in what you said and make it for themselves. Everyone has their way to inspire belief in what they need to make each other better. You have found away to present it. That’s really inspiring. I think you have opened up many doors to inspire people that are in need of understanding the big picture of knowing what we all represent. I’ve been lurking for a bit without commenting, while being a cheerleader for your channel. As a molecular biologist 20 year your senior, I applaud your clear, concise, and non-judgmental explanation of each topic you cover. There isn’t much free content that breaks down the science of the topics you cover in a manner that the lay person can understand. You very much remind me of a younger version of myself, well before RU-vid, being so excited to explain scientific topics to my mostly artist and/or entrepreneurial friend group. Keep going! Your genuine intention and passion will take you far (barring that you can shake off the trolls that will eventually come).
To clarify, you remind me of myself in that you break the science down to its basics and also attempt to connect those scientific concepts to every day and comical situations. Kudos 👏

Guys, we need a collab! I’m a 55 year old teenager who only got into skin care last year, and I’m fascinated by the science. I have extremely dry skin and always looking for assistance with that. I use only The Ordinary products and the hylauronic acid serum REALLY dried my skin out more. I tried applying it to damp skin but it wasn’t much better, so I’m looking for a good hydrator.
@@Jettypilelegs Thanks for your comment! I agree, a collab would be amazing! As far as a good moisturizing ingredients, I have personally had the best results with ceramides. My favorite moisturizer is the Iliyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate. I will plan to talk about this more :)
@@molecularmakeup thanks you. I actually ordered the Neutrogena Hydro Boost while I was watching your video. 😄 I used it today and yesterday and it’s a miracle! Normally I’m putting moisturiser on around my mouth are every hour or less all day but the new product lasted a good 5 hours, I couldn’t believe it!
First of all, phenomenal video! I know a little about the Manuka honey. It’s actually used alot in broadcasting because of its natural healing on the throat. It’s used by a lot of the top coaches and sports broadcasting. I was pleasantly surprised it was good on skin care as well! Really great job on the video, and your presentation on the video.
