I lost four of those sidewall spacers changing some wheels in a rush (i know, big party foul 😓), do you know how I can get replacements? my wheels are rattling now :/
No, washers are not needed. Washers should NOT be used with the UFS fasteners to secure the chassis to the boot. The ISO 7380-2 Button Head Flange screw used for the UFS fasteners essentially have a washer incorporated into the head geometry which distributes the force in a specific manner through the UFS mount area on the chassis. This head design also ensures clearance between the fastener head and the middle wheels. (Adding a washer would cause the head to interfere with the middle wheels.)
This worked like a charm on my Kizer Fluid Vs. Fitting the spacers was an absolute nightmare until I found this technique. Thank you very much for the upload. 🙏
Oh man I've just been using any old UFS bolts for my Oysi frames, I'm worried now I've watched this 😬 Next time I take them off I'll reattach them with the supplied bolts.
Yes, it would need modification. Because the recess in the plate is not quite deep enough. 64mm revolver wheels do just fit with no additional work, but a 65 would probably not spin. Not much additional material would need to be removed.
@@anawkwardlifemedia I found it was alright on my sways with 65 outers on the Oysi. I guess it depends which wheel you get as they're not always the exact size they say they are. Either way you'd only have a whisker of plastic to remove. I've got symmetrics 65s btw. Enjoy the frames they're fucking amazing! 🤟
Yes you’ll have to modify the soul plate to make the wheel well, and for Genesys you may need to remove a little material from the shell itself because of the thin center area of the soul plate.
Unfortunately, cannot say for certain, but it's highly likely that 65mm outer wheels would fit without modification. From looking at photos of the NJ soul plates, it really seems like you wouldn't have to modify them, since they do have some sort of wheelwell molded into the stock soul plate. It would depend on if the wheelwell ends up aligned just right above the wheels. For certain we were able to fit 65mm wheels on a Razors Shift/Loca soul plate without any modification (it just happened to be aligned well) and those soul plates look to have a much more minimal stock wheelwell than the New Jack plates. If you did have to remove some additional material in the soul plate it would be very minimal.
If you are having trouble please email support@oysius.com Are you conveying that you are unable to install the wheel in the chassis? or Are you conveying that you have installed the wheel and there is an interference that causes it to rub or prevents it from rotating?
@@oysius update: wheel wasn’t fitting because I had the wrong frame bolts in. I realized the frame bolt heads were recessed and then the 60m fit after that.
Hi the inner wheels were really hard to get in place and also are not really rolling as easy as the outer wheels any recommendations? Tried several different wheels problem persists.
Either use your fingers to push against the frame walls to give you a few extra mm when entering the middle wheels or even easier use a pair of big pliers or something similar. You can put it between the frame walls and open to slightly push the walls out for an extra mm or two. I found once it's all setup and the bearings are broken in it's a super solid feeling setup and the wheels all spin freely. *Don't forget your bearing spacers otherwise your wheels may not spin well.*
really informative video. great to see some good tool tips. what size medium chassis would you suggest for a small them boot? i normally skate wizard skates 90mm, so a bit extra length doesn’t worry me too much.
If you like the NR 90 Wizard wheelbase.....the 269mm wheelbase Medium Chassis is just a little bit shorter in length by 2-3mm. It would have a similar feel for your stride and fore/aft stability. Usually the 257mm wheelbase is the best fit for the small shell size 7-8 especially if you are really focused on just grinds. But if you go with a 65/59 wheel combo on the 269mm wheelbase Medium Chassis you’ll have a nice touch of rocker which should create a more similar feel to the NR90s for skating with having those wheel contact points out further from the front and back of your foot.
this video shouldn't be unlisted. just saying. might help some younger bladers feel a little less scared to buy and try. this method is way better than the dremel one that is what you mainly find online.
This is a size 10 US Seba SX 2. But this is with a 257mm wheelbase Medium chassis. For a size 8.5 US and up 269mm wheelbase is best. This was just to demonstrate the installation.
hey man i was wonding if i put a medium oysi on my large 908 you think that would work? wheel base for my Ground Control FLT3's is 270mm . The Oysi larger medium frames say 269mm thats not much at all....just wanted some of the benifits of the medium frame...the h block and the height of the frame... but i feel the original frame would provide more stability for me.....man im stuck...idk
Hi, sorry for the very late reply. The original 72mm chassis is better for that foot size US11+ for sure, in terms of wheelbase. The 269mm Medium Chassis would feel much like other more traditional aggressive frames available (usually these are 270mm wheelbase), so if you feel like that is just a little too short, based on use of other frames, then the original chassis would be better. Once you get a nice groove into the original chassis it feels very comparable to the medium chassis in terms of grinds. But the feeling for skating will be much nicer with the original chassis for larger foot size. For the ride height comparisons, you can check out the ride heights of the two chassis with various wheel size combos using the calculator on our website here: oysius.com/rocker-calculator
We do sell them, but check with some shops, they should have spacers as well. If you have no luck at all....please send an email to us through the contact page on our website - oysius.com/contact
What measurement on your frame is 28mm? Off the top of my head these are either 257mm or 269mm length - measured axle to axle (which is how you measure frames.)
Well......we spent from February 2019 to November 2019 working with a manufacturer in China to produce them for us. About 4-5 samples of spacers and axles and tooling changes to get them where we wanted. They make our axles and spacer hardware packs, but it’s a really big minimum order quantity. Though these hardware packs are intended to come with Oysi Chassis we do sell some of the sets to shops so they can sell them as replacements since the hardware is compatible with other frames as well, those that use a standard basic style of 8mm axle hardware and spacers. So you should be able to get a set from one of the shops if you are in need. If no luck just let us know and we’ll help get it sorted for you.
