Truck drivers don't determine when the deliveries are made. I'm glad I retired. Too much going against truck drivers today. Everyone wants to use tham as revenue enhancers.
The e l d has made trucking worse... It turns a good Trucker into a bad trucker I've got all kinds of stories on bad shippers and receivers... One example, Costco unloades at four o'clock in the morning, They made me stand on the dock Well, I'm not a graveyard truck driver... Many Shippers and receivers are very uncooperative and give a truck driver a hard time... California is the worst, They all hate truck drivers.
I’m at Prime and we get one hour of PC per day. If you abuse it, you lose it period. Most of these drivers have lost their PC privileges per their company and just aren’t being honest about it. Yes, it is completely legal but as you said, drivers have to comply to company policy. That driver should have been able to PC to a truck stop and put in the note safe parking or truck stop, something like that.
Ive read the fmcsa hand book on pc front to back. Ive never used it wrong or out of line in any way and ive still gotten 3 different tickets because of using pc
I am a retired trucker. If i pulled in a nd saw a sing like that fuck you after 8 hrs i leave and go t ova truck stop and refused to return to shit hole.
Any company that fires you for that, you shouldn't be working for in the first place. With trucking you have to ha e some extra money in the bank so you can walk away at any time!
What if u empty in georgia lets say and drive pc to tx thats where yard is at is that also liable for this rule? Yard and home 5 miles away with trailer attached we dont have yards or terminals but that one yard where company adress located.
We have bigger things to worry about than PC: Low rates High insurance Non English speakers Brokers Low freight volume Joe Biden High shop rates Too much competition (the wrong type)
You can PC if your out of hours and are unloaded. If his carrier fires him for that then that's retarded and they need to shut their doors. The FMCSA will never classify this because they don't want the backlash. The carriers make it difficult for us to do anything. It's always going to be confusing and a walking contradiction.
First off if a shipper or receiver doesn't want to load or unload in a decent time frame I pull out and shut my doors and they can go lump it. I will not waste my time waiting for them. I've done this before and I'll continue to do it. Hrs of service is what it is. The only way customers will learn is to teach them a lesson if they want to ship or receive their products
John Seidl 💯 correct with the info. It also depends on the company. Meaning how much time they allow you per day within a 24 hr period. You have to know the rules. DOT📋✒️ will tey to F you over every chance they get.
As a former deputy,back when the dinosaurs ruled the earth, i was taught, I was not the judge jury or executioner. I was nothing more than a glorified babysitter...These security officers and police officers now days act like they are God, so sad. Great explanation from this young man, I understood it.
GM plant in Arlington Texas needs to be addressed. Wait times are terrible and they treat Drivers like animals. They will punish you for being late even if you have blowouts 12 hours sometimes and no trucking companies are interested in paying and make it difficult to get anything. Most of us don't even try to get paid...to much trouble for 20 dollars on 4 hours at the dock
I hope the driver has a copy of the communication with the company along with the security guard video. An attorney may be able to assist him. So much BS
We deal with dot. Shitty brokers, shippers and receivers. Some don’t even let me use their bathrooms. Sucks sometimes when I need to drop an extra load lol
My company uses drop lots to rest when no other place is available to park. Trick is to drop trailer. Use PC and then go back to the drop lot under PC.
