@@iwanvanderhut4159 it’s a little bit heavy but you get used to it you have to remember that these guns are old school and not the same as the modern ones of today but still a nice gun to own and shoot 🐀
Always wondered with fox hunting, is it sustainable? I live in the country side (uk) and foxes are a rare sight. Have acquaintances who fox hunt but i never actually asked about the details, i just wanted to try out their shotguns in which they were happy to oblige aha
Nice to see a proper hilux..looks like you're heading in the right direction cracking the code with the 57..always found super fields good but more likely to find the odd inconsistent pellet than say a tin of H+N good luck 👍
The ghost looks a nice bit of kit and ery nice group after you got it sighted in, I’ve just ordered the new M4 so can’t wait till that arrives and see how that shoots,
What size groups are you getting? Could it be you hav’nt found a suitable pellet that suits both the barrel and the pop up breech? Are you sure there’s no scope creep? Have you checked it through a chronograph to see if it’s consistent? Is your hold correct and consistent? If these things check out it’s probably the breech isn’t aligning with the barrel properly or less likely it’s a damaged/duff barrel.
Loading port misalignment is what i would be thinking old chap , not unheard of, if still under warranty take it back , tbh i would go for a different WEIRAUCH ,
Is the breach loading mech sitting right? It may have too much grease in and not allowing the pellets to sit right. I have heaed that the mech can clip the skirt of the pellets and hence get your flyers.
Is the scope tube nipped up too tight, if it is, the crosshairs will be jumping around all over the place (un noticeably) inside. Just over half nipped is about right, cos there's 8 bolts & enough grip over that spread. Tightened diagonally opposite & a bit at a time.
I’ve got one of these and had the exact same issue with pellets spraying everywhere. My first fix was to use Weihrauch Magnum 10.65gr pellets. This helped but still didn’t cure it. It took it to a friendly gunsmith who sorted out the twang and smoothed out the recoil. It now shoots as good as any other springer with 8.44gr Baracuda 8 pellets. It’s a shame that it needs tweaking but I’m glad I persevered with mine. Now a real keeper. Good luck.
It could be that the gun is hold sensitive, I have a gun that does not shoot well of rest, but if I rest my hand on the rest and shoot the gun off my open palm it groups no problem, what ever you do do not grip the gun tightly, springers don't like it lol. Try different hold methods.
I don't think they are known for their accuracy but I still don't think youve found the right pellets I've got around 30 different pellets I usually find the one it likes and when you do it's amazing
Put 100 or 200 through it. I had similar with a 97. It settled down. Equally check your mounts, you said you shoot a shotgun. As do I, completely different hold. Look up artillery hold. Sorry if you know this stuff. It’s just not mentioned in your post. Ignore if I’m telling you to suck eggs. Sorry I meant 97k
check the choke, push a pellet down from the muzzle uncocked, if a tight start and then drops down after, it's showing odds on thats your the trouble, ;) May need a good polish inside at that end, help the pellets out,
I'm no expert as I've never owned 1,however thought about it and when doing research found that some have issues with the loading port either not lining up or clipping pellets leading poor grouping it put me off getting 1cause knowing my luck I'd get 1 of those..seems you've covered everything else hope you get it sorted good luck 👍
As you said should be leaded in,and those pellets are usually consistent, maybe worth experimenting with hold,I've had springers that like a firm/loose forehand/trigger hand..I have read that 57's can have issues with the port lining up maybe worth checking out forums..Good luck and I hope you solve the issue 👍👍
Is the scope tube nipped up too tight ? If it is, no amount of turret adjustment will make a difference. The cross hairs won't move properly, if at all, and jumping all over the hole inside. (un noticed) with the recoil.
The tube mount bolts don't need to be much above "Half Nipped", diagonally tightened, & bit by bit !! There are 8 bolts, so plenty of grip over that spread without crushing the tube!!
@@deansshootingandfishingham8275 My 45 year old .22 Webley Vulcan springer barrel has never been cleaned!! I can "Geld" a proverbial Gnat at 30 yards. It's not even all that "Pellet Fussy".
Have you had any trouble with the thin side walls where the magazine goes, just got a A17 with a Boyds stock and it feels like it might not like being knocked around in the Texas bush.
