I've been wanting to make videos here on RU-vid for a while, and I'll do my best to do a schedule but can't count on it. Most videos will be about Video Games and or Gaming in General, Might throw Movies into the mix as well.
I do plan on picking up the new Alone in the Dark remake on PS5 eventually. As far as Disney Dreamvalley, my fiancee is the Disney Nerd so I'm sure she will pick up a copy at some point.
Nice vid man- I noticed you cleared your throat a bunch and I hope ur not getting sick or anything, never feel bad for coughing or clearing ur throat or anything it makes it easier to hear you haha. Looking forward to more vids
I have all my game physically only time buy digital game or monthly reward game feee with PlayStation plus or one I buy with money is it is digital only game there no way to get it physically anywhere
Also, the deluxe edition of AW2 costs less than the standard edition of SM2 as a result of this decision to not keep physical. Physical copies of AW Remastered didn’t sell well too. They need to make money my man. Make their games successful and they will make physical versions.
What do you mean “I disagree”? Factually >94% of game sales are now digital. And 72% of console game sales are digital (subscription excluded). You don’t disagree with fact.
You thinking that most of the gaming community care about having physical media in 2023 is funny. You'd probably find (if you didn't have confirmation bias) is that the majority of gamers just don't care if a release is digital only. The game will sell fine. I guarantee that if the game is a raving success and gets rave reviews, you'll end up buying it anyway.
Yeah no. The fact of the matter is that we are not yet in the all digital future and there are plenty of people who prefer having a physical copy. Removing the option of having a physical copy for your customers are not only rude but anti consumer.
@@adambuskirk2222 Alan Wake 1 sold poorly back in 2010, as did the physical copies of the remaster in 2021. I don’t know why you’re crying over what is (from a business perspective), a smart decision. I guess I’ll just have fun playing the game, and you can keep huffing and puffing about how reprehensible a decision it is 😂
I was thinking about getting a sealed copy from a eBay seller for my collection but it seems like the game isn’t going to be a collectible. Do you think the Special Reserve release will be a collectible?
Its hard to say to be honest. If you couldn't just straight up order it from a regular retailer like Amazon or Best Buy then I would say yes. However since you can and not only order a PS4 version but also a PS5 version, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say no. Besides the only "extra" thing that came with the SRG version is a little art card.
Riveting comeback. And no I won't be buying it unless there is a physical copy. Because I actually like to own things. If the PS5 and Series X launched with no disc drives and was purely digital only then I could understand but nope. They are being lazy and will miss out on a lot of sales from those who like and prefer physical media.
Talk to Epic. Remedy are developers. Epic are publishers. Epic funded the entire gig, remaster included. Remaster probably sold like shit because its Alan Wake, it never sold well. Depressing but its the truth. Epic probably saw the writing on the wall.
Still taking the OPTION away from the customer is a really shitty thing to do. I'm hoping that they (Remedy/Epic) take up THQ Nordic up on their offer of helping with a physical release. Also like i previously stated. They want to release a physical with out the need to download anything? Again it's called release the game on two discs.
I think this is BS. Remedy is thinking about my wallet, yeah thanks, but I have no problem saving up an extra $10 to buy a physical copy. I'm boycotting this game.
I'm hoping the backlash from this decision makes them decide to rethink it all together. THQ Nordic came out a couple days ago saying they would help Remedy/Epic Games make a physical release as I guess they (THQ) did the PC Physical Copy of the first game back in the day. But yes I am doing the same.
I think at this point complaining about not having physical copy is pretty pointless on games, since most of the time they are released buggy on general level, even if you had the disk, it will not do you any good without patching it up anyways. Which still leads you into situation you would have to update the game through internet. and in many cases, those patches are not small by any means. I have not had optical drive in my PCs for 10 years, nor will I ever feel need to put one in either. Just waste of space, waste of material and filling up the world with useless waste. If the company I know make good game and they can have additional profit, go ahead, they deserve that. Just my two cents on the matter.
99.9 percent of the time, the game is still playable offline. The point is that they have done physical copies of their other games. What makes Alan Wake 2 so special? Also like I said, they really want to get around having to download a big chuck of the game? Provide a second disc.
One thing that I wonder tho.. since its published by epic games, It would be really beneficial for them to released physically on PC anyways, just making me wonder how much of this decision had been made from Publishers side and how much on Remedy's side. I would guess 100% of it had been made by the publisher. one could argue its remedy's fault too for making contract with them, but who knows. But as I said, I really don't mind either way of they release it physically or not.
@@JH-dx9um They should keep it as an Option. Taking options away from the consumer tends to not go well. I do know THQ Nordic reached out saying they would help doing a physical release since they apparently did the physical of the first game on PC but whether or not Remedy and Epic Games takes them up on that offer remains to be seen.
@@adambuskirk2222 I think this time Epic games who is the publisher that is making the call. They will want to have it exclusive on Epic game store on PC. if they would release it physically on console and not PC that would make people even more angry you are now. Because lets face it, nothing makes people more angry than some getting something and you not. In this case it would be console gamers getting physical copy and not releasing it physically on PC. Sure they will save some costs by not having disk release, but also by doing this they have the Epic games store exclusive game on PC. and at the same time keeping the same line on all the platforms, which is download only. I really don't see this publisher making any changes no matter what kind of boycott they face. If it was some other publisher maybe, but not Epic games.
@@JH-dx9um Thats the thing though, there hasn't been a physical copy of a PC game for the longest time. Only Consoles are still getting them. For now at least. Still doesn't make sense.
I support the boycott of alan wake 2 only being a digital only release. If they lose money then they will have no choice and it will show other companies that it is not the standard for all games. Tell them. No disk. No deal.
Making them lose money won't make them do anything. Doing that will make it worse. If it does well in the first few weeks - month. Then it's more likely it'll eventually get physical copies. That's how you get what you want, by supporting them, not working against them.
@@Avery-pj4ib they made their bed now they got to lay in it. Boycotting them will show AAA studios they we won't tolerate it. You won't change my mind.
It's called having an option. Not everyone has the best internet in order to download it. Also what happens if the game ends up getting delisted down the line like the first one did? What about if PSN/Xbox Marketplace/ and the Epic Game Store goes down and people can't access their account in order to download it? Having a physical copy allows for the game to be preserved. Plain and simple.
Yep remember getting 2 discs on a few games in the Xbox 360 days and even Cyberpunk 2077 came with 2 discs. I for one ain't buying on digital and I believe if more people boycott it they may change their minds and "Remedy" the situation.
Thank you. I know the remake is out so that one might be more accessible for you but if you ever have a chance to play the original, I implore you to give it a shot.
