cool video i always love the trabant it is my favorite ride i broke down and cried when minehead got rid of their trabant i loved that ride so much when ever i hear that a trabant type ride gets removed it always brings back memorys of losing my favorite ride and it makes me upset it may sound a bit stupid because i was so obsessed with the minehead trabant that my friends say that we were connected i still think of her and the fun times we had i and hoping to build a model of her an have it motorised i wish that minehead never got rid of her i know that it is a bit strange calling the ride "her" i always called the minehead trabant "her" i know it is just a ride but still when i was holidaying in minehead butlins i was always in the funfair when the trabant was there i rode on her more than any other ride in the funfair
Susan, I know how you feel. I love the Trabant too and was heartbroken when Great Escape In NY got rid of it. There is something to be said for the classic rides, and the Trabant is a true classic. I will always miss it, just like the rainbow ride. 😢❤️😢
This looks like the mid 1960's version of the ride before they redesigned the lighting package and added the new decorations in the middle with the disco ball on top. I was not aware any of these still exist. They also had to put the platform together piece by piece. A real time consuming set up.
I used to ride the Trabant when I was a kid back in the 60's. Loved it! I haven't seen it for decades. They should build a retro amusement park with all the old rides such as the Trabant, the Scrambler, the Roll-O-Plane, the Wild Mouse, the Sky-Wheel, etc. and of course a good old Ferris Wheel and a wooden roller coaster. I sure miss the cheap thrills!
