I only paid $110 six months ago. Doesn’t have to be this brand. Any curved slider will likely work. I designed the movement and lighting controls using an Arduino-based microcontroller and a lux meter. If you’d like the code, let me know.

This is FANTASTIC. Superbly directed and edited Tom. You are very surprising to me that your talents are so adept. Going to have to take this in in half hour segments. Great seeing old pictures of Bill and Mace. We were very close in those years. Mace and I used to make Super 8mm Films with a EM60XL.

bad retraction settings caused filament to leak from the nozzle during travels, this could also be caused by a higher than needed nozzle temp.

Hi. What software are you using to change tones?
@tomsylvester
@tomsylvester 9 месяцев назад
I use Cura to slice the STL file. After you have the model loaded, click Extension | Post Processing | Modify G-Code and add a script called Time Lapse, where you can set the print head (X direction) and plate (y direction) next. You also set the Pause Length, which I set at 5 seconds. When the plate moves forward, it passes over an Infrared switch that I built that tells a microcontroller to send a series of commands: 1) turn on the LED light grid 2) focus camera 3) squeeze camera trigger 4) turn off LED light grid. Then the printer goes back to printing the next layer. During that time, a lux meter is checked as the LED grid comes on one LED at a time until the preset lux level is met for the next photo (that way, it can print as the room darkens at night for example). Finally, the microcontroller sends a command to nudge the camera to the left. Then it stays idle until the plate passes over the IR switch again. My design works with my Sony A-7 camera, but it should work with most LANC type cameras such as Canon.

These timelapse print videos have me confounded. Can you explain how every snap shot taken that makes up the entire video has the printer head at the right side off of the bed??? When my printer is printing the head stays above the print at all times. Thanks for your input ☺
@ogpennywise
@ogpennywise 9 месяцев назад
you send a command to put the printhead wherever you want it to be when it takes the picture. Most addons have a spot for this. Some do not.
@natsterjam
@natsterjam 9 месяцев назад
@@ogpennywise Ah so it's a modded print. It must take longer with the extra print head travel. Thanks my friend I appreciate the reply.
@HW_Printing
@HW_Printing 9 месяцев назад
@@natsterjam it does take a bit longer due to you needing to wait for the camera to take the photo before the head can move back

Very interesting getting the true story about GPS design and build from those on the coal face. These are the kinda engineers i like to work with... Unfortunately the "warm and fuzzy" (not so) back ground music is just cringe-worthy and very distracting...

As I already said, I am firmly with groups who moved world forward wherever they might be from, today GPS has made life so easy for normal consumer also and this very system would be base of creating new id’s worldwide human head count and data bases to be formed to monitor safety, wellbeing, financial well-being who needs help immediately, and it shall cut all monetary frauds and help reaching to those who need it most along with cutting of population going beyond resources, thus squalor poverty grime not going away from world, this very system is going to help in finally getting rid of most important social civil evil still in world.

Talk about a blast from the past. It was such a pleasure seeing all the giants of GPS that I had the pleasure of working with in the user equipment source selection, test and integration in support of the GPS JPO. Only thing I might have missed in this excellent documentary was the involvement of the NATO engineers who participated in the success of the development and test of GPS across the board. By the time of my retirement in 2010 I saw GPS and peripheral equipment put into so many systems that provide 24 hour, world wide protection of our great country.

Absolutely EXCELLENT!!!!! A must watch! BUT.... with all our enemies-- foreign and domestic-- we MUST continue to teach the fundamentals of celestial navigation. ALL of these satellites could disppear in the blink of an eye. Thanks you to the folks who producted this top notch program and ALL the patriots who made the GPS system work. Maybe it could be said GPS is America's final gift to the civilized world.

As a professional Mariner, I cannot express how important of an impact gps based navigation has had on my life. I’m old enough to have worked in the days before we had it and to what it has developed into now. It’s the single most important invention to impact navigation since the compass itself. In fact, I would much rather have modern electronic gps based navigation over a compass, no comparison.

As a sailor I absolutely love GPS, but there is something so romantic about celestial that even though I use GPS, I decided to learn and taught myself celestial with a cheap Davis plastic compass. The first time I worked out a fix on celestial, with paper and pencil, and almanac I felt like I had the keys to the back door of God's mind.
