I'm so sorry you went through getting arrested and dealing with cop shit. I'm glad your community was there for you. This talk was so moving and pertinent to my life right now. I'm on a journey of recovery from substance abuse and the past couple of months have been really tough. While I was listening to your talk I realized how hard I work to keep from feeling the heartbreak, and that I keep using substances in order to avoid feeling heartbroken. But what I learned from your talk is how important it is to feel the heartbreak when it happens, because otherwise it gets stored in my body and causes even more pain down the road. On another note, I'm curious how you formed your community, maybe one day you could give a talk about that? I struggle big time to find community and generally feel pretty isolated.
Thank you for sharing your experience and for the kind words 🙏🏽 I am sending you so much healing and holding for your journey. I definitely can do that 💕 going to be sharing some practices on that at the end of summer here too. I hope it will benefit your practice 🙏🏽
I really appreciate you talking about modernity in hospice and wondering about how we can foster that ending and bring about a new beginning. It gave me a sense of peace when you said that we don't have to stay in modernity, we can choose change. I hope what comes after modernity will see the earth as a whole system, like the body, with many beings dwelling inside (similar to all the bacteria that live inside human bodies).
Thanks for that reflection my friend! I hope so to. We are having a book club for this book start up soon as well, feel free to join us :) www.eventbrite.com/e/abolitionist-dreaming-practice-book-club-tickets-431375424507
Really appreciate this. I've always felt like I am this great expanse inside, and this video reminded me to get more in touch with that feeling in my body.
I dont think anything is wrong with that at all! It is difficult to exhale that slowly, and the body is adjusting by getting the oxygen it needs. My teachers would probably encourage me to get comfortable with shorter durations first, and then work my way up to longer ones so I don't need to do the gasping after. And to make sure I am relaxed in the mind and body, not over focusing or clenching
It is recommended, but if there is some condition or need to breath through the nose of course listen to your body. You can start where ever is comfortable! If 20/20 feels good, perhaps doing a session of 15/15 three times, 20/20 three times, then 25/25 three times would be a good practice. Then as you find your comfort zone expand, push everything up by 5 seconds. Thats how I learned at least!
Thank you so much...you explain the technique here so clearly and well🙏 I found out about this exercise on a breathing app, and it’s been a HUGE game changer in my life. It’s unbelievable to me that this isn’t more well known... Not only is it tremendously effective against just general, annoying, ruminating anxiety, but also depression. And it straight up slaughters my panic I flew home today, and the turbulence was pretty intense for awhile. In the past, that has thrown me into full blown, embarrassing panic attacks that are pretty evident to all around me....but doing Okinaga felt like having Xanax on tap...without any side effects!
I'm so glad to hear of your good experience with this exercise! It definitely helps me with panic and also allergies! Opens my sinuses right up. Thanks for sharing and watching!

Hi so I peeled my scab off and it’s been about 2 months and I’ve been trying to get rid of the mark off and when I used mederma it got itchy and sometimes got the scar red and nothing has been working ??is there anything I can do
EliRynBrown Hy! I saw your video after surgery. I had my breast lift surgery 2019. 14 of February. I am suffering from some hipotrophic scars. So now I am usig keloit gels. And will start to use siliocn gel tapes. My question. When Your scars started to fade in color, how long it took? My scars under the breast are still very red. That color is disturbing me more then texture. With best regards
So glad I found your review! I am going to see if the CVS in Target has the ones you like. If you are still reading comments and needing longer term treatment, Mederma Dry Oil for scar massage to help keep them getting softer and softer. AND it is dry oil, it is amazing.
Glad you found it helpful! And I’ll have to check the dry oil out to have something to Balance out the amount of running around in the sun that’s about to happen now that it’s warm out again haha. Great tip
So let's say, I got some scars on my arm that are white (I'm a dark color) would the scars go away with that stuff? I'm sure cuz scars lighten in the sun and I live where it's always bright out
Best thing for scar apart is massage them every day! Massage massage that works better than any thing plus used silicone pure gel ! Thank for u advice x
Hey, this is really old but I just wanted to say that I saw your video on AmbiguiT Guys about gender-neutral pronouns and after reading the comments I just felt I had to say that I love and support you and your identity. I know this is weird hearing from a random person on the internet but I felt I needed to say it <3 I hope you have a good day or night where ever you are from and stay safe! Same to anyone else who goes by gender-neutral pronouns, I'm available if anyone needs to talk!
Thx so much for your review. I was looking for something my daughter can use, she wasn't lucky enough to have natural😔nevertheless beautiful baby born😇
Hey, I’m not sure it probably depends on the area and how spread out the scarring is because some of these products might not be recommended for wide spread use or near the eyes etc. best bet would be to ask a dermatologist my friend!
EliRynBrown because lemon is a bleach and sunlight can cause dark spots. I used it to bleach my teeth, heal my super dry hands and as a face mask to avoid pimples (egg white and lemon juice) .
