Hi, I am Sergio Acuña Padin, and this channel is about woodworking with simple electric diy tools, and making homemade tools, including how to make woodworking tools and contraptions. I attach those machines to some bench and boards to use them as a table saw, a homemade jointer, a homemade planer, a router table and some other woodworking tools like a jigsaw table, a drum sander, a disc sander and also some drill press table. You will also find how to make woodworking projects (pieces of furniture and other) explained step-by-step. You will also find woodworking tips and ideas.

In this channel I show some of the videos of my woodworking channel Enredandonogaraxe, but reissued with comments in English.

The homemade tools I make, and the use I give to those homemade tools that I have, and to the tools I make, can be dangerous (or even not recommended), so it is under your sole responsibility if you decide to follow the instructions you watch in my videos.

Thank you for a simple explanation of drilling hinge holes without all the special and astronomical engineering many use in here to show how to drill a hole and mainly advertising the product

IMO .. you need to send the piece of wood through a jointer then a planer 1st to make the two faces parallel and flat. At a minimum the planer. Then the two halves will have a better chance to meet. In the video I can see the large piece rocking on uneven face.

Yess... true... the wood must perfect parallel...

Having the thickness of the wood just slightly larger than the diameter of the ball might help.

maybe you should get a foot switch so you can turn off the drill press without removing your hands, granted clamping the product helps

I wonder if the board you used wasn't parallel? If not the drill and cutter would be coming in at different angles when you flipped the board. 🤔 I also wonder if a harder wood would give a better finish.

Thanks for demonstrating this safety hazard. - Yes you figured out that clamps improve safety on such jobs. - It unclear if it was softwood or hardwood. If hardwood then the drill speed was very much too fast. For that size bit it should be just 250 rpm. Most drill presses don't go that slow, so just select the slowest speed available then. For softwood and that size bit use 1000 rpm.

I much prefer your real voice. And yes, I agree, these cutters produce a disappointing finish.

Very good project. I do not know what function the groove is having. Would it not be simple to leave it plain and instead have a Sacrificial block and then have your stock on top of it..the Fence is a good idea.

Instead of the wax, glue Formica on the clamp bars before you drill the holes. This will prevent glue squeezed out from gluing the 2 elements together. Wax may transfer to you project and cause problems when applying finish.
