I appreciate all of your videos documenting these Northern California parks and trails, not that I'll be sniffing anything advanced or expert 🤣but they're fun to watch!
We felt pretty warm whenever we stopped in exposed areas, and both of us drank all our water before the trip was done. The shaded areas were great. Dust was the biggest annoyance, I could not imagine riding in a big group w/ all that powder on the trails.
Cool video man, I'm racing tomorrow the course looks awesome. Not sure if you want some unsolicited advice or not but I notice you almost always set up for a turn on the inside. You would be able to carry a lot more speed by setting up on the outside. (E.g. if you're about to turn right, get to the left of side of the trail to initiate the turn right)
Interesting! I've never noticed that. Thanks, I'll have to check this out on my next ride & see if I consistently do this or maybe it had something to do w/ the conditions ?
It’s called Telemetry Overlay. The software isn’t cheap, but it’s well made & easy to learn . There is a FaceBook group if you have questions or want to see other applications .
@@stevebaum thank you, looking into it. What device did you use to capture the track? I’m using Garmin Zumo 396LMT, but the tracks are not very detailed (points are too far apart for the trail like this) and it doesn’t capture the climb/downhill grade
@@awesomedn All my data was fetched from my GoPro 11. You can try a free copy of Telemetry for a week to see what it can do w/ your data from your Garmin.
Unfortunately, no. This area is typically open only to special events, and no pre run is available before the race. Most people watch a few videos because the course doesn’t change dramatically & you can also ask anyone that went just before ( in my case the class B riders finished maybe 1/2 hour earlier.) It’s a fun race.
@@stevebaum Super slippery, and so much dust. Your falls probably hurt, but you didn't act like they did. And you never wasted much time after falling! I'd love to ride with you someday 👍
@@stevef8065 Thank you, it’s all the camera, lol. Camera: GoPro 12 black, mounted on the chin of my helmet. Video setting: Cinematic, wide view, 4k/30 and standard stabilization.
Cool trails. I'll be out in that area in a few weeks to do some riding while I'm waiting on the motor in my backup bike is being rebuilt. Ride safe my 2 wheel friends.
Enjoyed this video alot ! Used to ride Hollister hills in the late 70's but don't remember these trails. Would love to come back up from San Diego and ride this area again . I have the same bike you guys are riding and usually ride in the desert. Maybe come up early next year with my buddies from down here.
Outstanding! Those ravines from 10:30 on…I can only imagine the power of large amounts of water flowing through there. Thanks for bringing us along with you👍
Nice video! What trail did you start out on? The initial parts of the trail look like they were easy enough for my kids who've been riding for 5-6 years but don't take well to super technical stuff.
Yes, they check your bike at the gate if it’s visible (open trailer, pickup truck, etc.) The Rangers are also observing as they go around the park. I’m not sure what you mean about ‘posting before it opened’?
It’s not hard, just tight. The only awkward spot for me is at the bottom. The abrupt right turn climb from the lowest point usually has me dab a foot once or twice on the way back up. You got this! 👍
I’m not as susceptible as some to poison oak. I’m no fool, I am very careful to immediately wash my bike & gear as soon as I can, and do the double shower technique to make sure I get any poison oak off ASAP.
You trailed me for a bit and past me at. 36:57! I mistook you for being in GTR but not only was I wrong it was the legend himself!! Good job. I took that corner wide because I could sense someone was behind me and I was tired so I let you through.
Then why didn’t I win? (Lol). I don’t think I have the endurance for another 1/2 hour of B class. Didn’t you notice how slow I was going during the 2nd half of the race?
This new GoPro has been a huge pain in the a$$. The picture quality & stabilization is great, but so many problems w/ losing uploads & turning itself off! My old Garmin Virb was much more reliable until about year 3.
