Jay and Amber, Patsy Cline sang with a feeling that was bluesy, yet country. That was her genius. She could crossover to the pop and jazz charts. ... Listen to "Judi Likes the Blues," by Bugs Henderson. Bugs was from Tyler, Texas. He died in 2012 from cancer. But he left us his music. I think you'll both like this song. It's got a country blues flavor. Bug's guitar is just beautiful, as it blends in with the pedal steel guitar. His vocals have that Texas sincerity. We all have felt the blues and can relate.
My sister won a competition in one of the big music magazines, and the prize was the top twenty singles, plus the top ten albums - & this was one of the singles.
Emmy Lou has one of the best voices from the angels above. My favourite voice along with Linda Ronstadt and Dolly. If you’ve watched Brother Where Art There you will see on the Album she wrote and sings some of the songs that don’t need instruments, just voices from a heavenly choir, just the pure quality of the best voice of a songbird.
From 2000 on the Donny & Marie Show (remember them?) P!nk never lip syncs -- ever! Flies through the air during her concerts, etc. Click on link to hear "Most Girls". You should listen to "There You Go" 1st as the two songs go together. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2spp8p_TL-g.html
John Lennon stated the song was about his possessiveness about Yoko, however he supposedly told Paul McCartney the song was about how bitter he was that Paul was idolised. "He used to say, 'Everyone is on the McCartney bandwagon' Paul told a magazine in 1985.
ANYTHING by Tom Petty is outstanding! He is one of my biggest personal heroes, not just as a musical artist, but as a person. He was a man of great integrity, and never, ever put out any commercial drivel. I remember buying this album when it first came out, and then buying every other Petty album as soon as it came out. His passing hit me harder than any other, and it still hurts. Rock In Peace Tom, we miss you so! 😔
One of my favorite 80's bands. Danny Elfman and the band are so unique and so talented. This is also off the DEAD MAN'S PARTY album, which I feel is amazing from start to finish. Check out "Stay" and "No One Lives Forever".
One of his best and biggest songs for sure! Used in the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High as well. This is a song that defines the late 70's for me. I hear it and it brings me back to those hot, sunny summer days when I was a kid. LOVE IT! Check out - "You Got Lucky" & "Even the Losers", "
A One-Hit a wonder in the US only. They had lots of hits elsewhere before Pauly's early death. Land of Plenty, Right On, and On the Run were all big hits in New Zealand and hit in Europe. All four songs are from the same album. No OMC single was released in the US. How Bizarre got to number 4 on the Billboard Main because of lots of radio airplay. Don't Speak by No Doubt was another song that hit big based on radio play without a single. It was quite an accomplishment to hit big on Top 40 radio with no single.
Lennon's opening sequence, about a man who “blew his mind out in a car” - pertained to the death of Tara Browne, who had died in a car accident on December 18th, 1966. The 21 year old Browne was the heir to the Guinness fortune and a friend of the Beatles'. Paul's break in the middle came from his memories of waking up late for school
In my humble opinion John Lennon is the greatest song writer of all time. I've said more than than once, on a planet that is 4.54 billion years, there's been millions and millions of people who never had the chance to hear his music. I'm lucky enough to have existed on this planet during the same time as John Lennon. Even if just for 3,401 days
You guys need to check out The Busboys’ 1st album! Same sarcastic humor as Danny Elfman in songs like “There Goes The neighborhood” & “Tell The Coach”......... 💯🔥🤙🏽😎
Tom Petty, Jeff Lynn singer for ELO, Steve Winwood, and Prince doing my guitar gently weeps. Tribute to George Harrison after he passed away at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. Also Prince does a guitar solo that is his eff you to Rolling Stone magazine for leaving him off their list of top 100 greatest guitarists. And he absolutely shreds that thing. You guys will love it!!!
I am surprised that you guys don't know a lot of these songs. I guess i raised my kids with a plethra of music and they know almost everything. I never listened to Motown or R&B but my kids dad did. I taught them good music.
