We went here as a group of us in 2016 from the hostel we were staying at. It was great fun, I had a massive crash and got some killer bruises. But what a laugh!
Both are great honestly. Westin is perhaps closer to other amenities and restaurants, while Kimpton has a little more on site and is a much newer hotel. We love the pool at Kimpton and the beachside restaurant there so Kimpton slightly edges it for us.
Always double check your brakes. One run I had was a nightmare because I had no control at the bends. Wiped out several times even though I was doing my best to slow it down
and then you get the obese a hole who hits someone from behind. They need to regulate the flow a bit more. SOmeone comes full barrel into someones back when they slow to stop, its Greenberg and Betterman time
That looks kinda dangerous. what if someone isnt a very good driver? they could either run them selfs off the track and get seriously injured or accidently run into someone causing injury.
another time a bus load of elderly koreans were on track and to slow down you pull the handlebars toward you and release to speed up. something was lost in translation and they came speeding up to a bend 3.34 in this video, and simply let go which stops you in your tracks immediately. i came round the bend to carnage, old women on the track moaning, flipped up luges, it bought tears to my eyes, never laughed so much i almost crashed myself. good times
took some school kids there and a boy put his foot out to steady himself and it caught fire on the track. there was a plume of smoke the rest of the way down.
