My grandpas destroyer was the first ship into the lagoon knowing they were going to get stuck on the reef at low tide to pull marines off the beach that were wounded taking shell damage from the Japanese. USS Ringgold DD500. He said that he visited hell for a few days.
My guess is that I'm don't have daily or weekly vlogs putting my channel out there like that. I spend 80% of my time immersed in the place and the people mainly before i get my stories together. It can be my curse, but because its passion in how i do my thing, its a blessing. Thank you for your support my good friend :D
God, thank you for the gift of tongues and interpretation. Thank you for every nation, tongue, tribe and language. Thank you for every dialect in Jesus name. Amen 🙏
God, thank you for blessings from above, thank you for all blessings here on earth. Thank you for waking us up, for raising us up and loving us through life in Jesus name. Amen 🙏
Malo Ni Anthony, I'm of Samoan and Tokelauan descent from my paternal grandmother. Originally from Oahu, but I now live state-side. Just wanted to thank you for your video. Tugs at my heart to see your passion about a place that I claim ties to but likely know less about than you. You'll find a small, but decent sized population of Tokelauans in central Oahu. Last names are Tyrell, Jennings, Pedro, and more. All of whom I'm related to in one way or another lol. Many of the elders are migrants who made their way from either Tokelau or American Samoa to Hawaii in the 60's and 70's. I don't have any active contacts to put you in touch with as my life's journey has taken me away and distanced me from friends and family back home, but it wouldn't surprise me if the "Betty" you reached out to is my Aunty Betty (Ickes). Can't claim to have a close relationship, but the interactions I had with her growing up, I know her to be a very sweet and intelligent woman. Anyway, I really just wanted to thank you again and wish you good luck and safe travels throughout your journeys. Cheers!
I say go with what you feel guided to do at your own pace. Find your current "sweet spot" in life. Work on what's most important, but also remember podcasts don't have to be perfect. You can start small and put more momentum once you get other projects going, too. And if you need help, definitely delegate to anyone you trust on this mission ❤ Regardless you are going to get your stuff out there. Just make sure you're taking care of you, too.
I think to learn of one’s Hawaiian Heritage is important. Imagine how hard it is for kids to learn and speak all their nationality. It’s all up to the parents what Culture they want their kids to learn just as what culture the child themselves wants to learn when they are older. Kids will be able travel.
Micronesia is so beautiful idk why they come to Hawaii and refuse to assimilate, refuse to care about school, refuse to watch their kids, refuse to learn english, and expect us to cater to them. What the hell. We barely got shit in Hawaii. Language dying, culture dying, land stolen and desecrated, It just sucks we gotta share what little we have when they got their culture, they got their language and they GOT THEIR LAND. Hawaiians didn’t test bombs in your islands, America did. Now we have more Micronesians in Hawaii than Hawaiians by far. Im Hawaiian and I feel like they’re taking over our islands and making us feel like they deserve it. I also don’t hate the people I’ve grown up with many different Micronesians and worked with them in many jobs. A lot of good people its just they have desire to assimilate because so many of them are here and they can exist in they own little bubble. idk the solution but it’s frustrating. I have also talks to people who have visited chuuk and they said they sent all the bad kids to Hawaii so idk again.
Palau is almost beside the Philippines... Palau owns by the country of the United States of America. Their money and currency is US Dollars. It is just a simple Island looking like Philippines... I'd rather choose to visit a southeast Asian country, listed very affordable and cheapest to live in Southeast Asia Vietnam... list of 5 the Philippines, next number 7 Thailand... Palau has its limited resources, products.. go in a big island cities... It's nice Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand. Us Dollar is expensive. According to gossip Filipino historian.... BEFORE: Palau is part of the Philippines because in 1898, Palau participated in the congress before in the Philippines, as part of the province of Mindanao. Ever since Americans wants to own our government, almost became states or region of the United States... But the United States... Surrender their RULE and regime in 1948, as the Philippines became a country and totally whole independent from the United States.
Great video. My uncle was part of the First Marines landing on Peleliu. He personally told me of the horrors they endured. It was a true hell on earth.
Aloha ❤ from Germany. Mahalo nui loa for your amazing documentation of the "real" Hawai´i. I´m born in the northern part of Germany in this life. But I´m sure, I have been serveral lifetimes there. In the "old" Hawai´i. So I feel more and more the spirit and the wisdom. I feel my mission to teach the wisdom here in Germany - and give the lomi lomi massage - with the style from Aunty Margaret Machado. Aloha nui loa 🌺to you - from our HALE ALOHA 🌈
You produced this on your own? for a short understated documentary you conveyed so much, Amazing work, Hard to believe the Nightmare and Hell that occurred in such a Beautiful Place. Hard to believe Peleliu could recover from such Destruction, quite a Contrast from the Horrendous Suffering, and imagine the Turmoil and Noise alone and now to such a Peaceful place, also the History there.
