Glad to see USA companies moving ahead. After 40+ years I got out in 2003 because most of the significant work from several of our customers was going overseas to Japan mainly. Because they were one step ahead of most medium smaller commercial printers here in this area. Miss it but the more automated it becomes the less interested I became. Good luck this company seems to be ahead of the curve.
As I retired after 40years as a pressman in both hot and cold type. By 2003when I actually quit the business before everything became automated. But I wondered when this would happen. Pretty neat but will eliminate many jobs like the quick print business did to medium size shop. Shame in a way.
on reflection, am i being too harsh on this product?having over45yrs as a pressman, most presses away from heidlburg have proved to be tempermental unreliable and inconsistant. this is not to say heildburg have their faults, but people do tend to stay with them. having worked in 26/6 workplace for 17 yrs and never seen amajor mechanical break down says it all
All Japanese presses have always printed sharper than the germans, know having worked for Komori, Ryobi and Mitsubishi. Reliability and low cost of maintenance, we had Heidelberg users telling us the were paying over £20K a year on maintenance.
@@michaelcarr2874 having worked at house with 3 x8 col and 5col heiidelburgs, they were incedible 24 hrs a day 6 days aweek people with other makes problems with spares electrics and residual
@@paulcarroll4003 I served 51 years in the industry from apprentice lithographer, award winning as a minder and .manager, thirty of those years in sales in ink and machinery. At Mitsubishi we offer demonstrations where they brought a disk of their jobs so we could ot practice, one came straight from Heidelberg who asked for the disc the day before, one went out for a smoke and there I the skip were thousands of sheets of their job, so they walked out.
