Both Dorothy and Arlene were elegant smart and funny ! Bennett Cerf and Fred Allen were real gems as well, as was the moderator Mr Daly. 🥰

I liked when both Arlene Francis and Martin Gabel were on the show. However Arlene Francis and Dorothy Killgallen were phenomenally entertaining.

Groucho asking the jail warden if he was a corrupt politician is ironic considering the warden was later sentenced to prison for being corrupt. Maybe Groucho was a good judge of character?

In 1986 I was in Manhattan New York in the lobby of Trump Tower. I had observed an elderly couple walking through the lobby. Seeing the videos of Martin Gabel and Arlene Francis. I think that they were the elderly couple that I had observed walking through the lobby? 😊

What I've always wondered is that over the years Arlene's diamond heart pendant, which is said that Martin gave her on their first anniversary (and she always wore thereafter) seems to change. In early "What's My Line," episodes it appears to have a drop that dangles from the top center, later episodes it seems not to have a drop and appears a bit larger. Wikipedia says in later life she was mugged and it was stolen. How terribly sad to hear. Six months after his death she was interviewed on the "Arlene Herson Show" (RU-vid) and Ms. Francis says the heart has diamonds on both sides, but clearly there is no center drop. They are a dear heart couple.

I think their funniest interaction was on an episode of What's My Line during which Martin said that Arlene doesn't buy a dress unless it costs at least $5,000. I thought Arlene was going to hit him. Practically every time they said anything the rest of the show, they traded barbs about the incident. Martin admitted he was in trouble by the time they said their good nights. They both had good senses of humor. Arlene's was more brash than Martin's, but they were both witty with words. They were together a long time, and they certainly seemed to love each other and their son Peter.

Thumbs down because of the music. The song itself is OK, but it doesn’t seem to fit with this video as well as being too loud and distracting. In my opinion.

I never get tired of these segments! They take me back to my youth when I watched them. All the panelists continually show their grace and class. So very obvious now in a world where this is sorely lacking. Arlene Francis lived to be 93.
