Isaac Newton spent decades calculating when the real Messiah, Jesus Christ, will return. In the end Newton chose the year 2060 as the earliest likely date.
Philip glass is so underrated. The first time I heard of him was when I watched The Illusionist. Ever since then I have been looking up his other music. His music is so direct and uncomplicated. He does not create unnecessary notes.
They definitely did pick the right actor for the part playing Paul walking into that council chamber (and I was amazed and blown away and how big it was and how many freemen there were) to take charge and not stand down was amazing!!!! He even changed their rules of authority!!!
Love your work man. This movie has honestly moved me in a time where my person was frozen solid. Terence Malick is a genius through and through. You wouldn't be able to do something similar for the film Song to Song (2017)?
Watched Dune 1 at home and Dune 2 just yesterday at the theater, such a difference. Big part for me was the musical quality, why i ended up here :D Especially the end scene where Paul says to his Generals 'Lead them to Paradise' and 'Kiss the Ring' theme plays with the Fremen charging against the Fleet of the Houses, such an epic combo and still gives me shivers when i rewatch!
Hans Zimmer is a poet with an orchestra and his deep understanding of human emotions allows him to play us, the audience, to the highs, lows, excitement, romance, and near godliness of his creations.
This is our generation's Lawrence of Arabia (movie). The tale of old ideology at war with modern civilization, just like the middle east to the western world. Where profits are chosen over the lives of those in poverty, living far away from the security of modern life. We see this occur today before our eyes, and yet we do very little to stop ourselves from indulging in the products that create these wars. Maybe we deserve to be ruined by radical believers and ancient lifestyles. We wage war against the oldest things humans have ever created, the structures that have survived everything in human's fight for survival. We can't expect to defeat them. Look at the ancient tribe of Judea, they have won. Look at Afghanistan, the Taliban won. Look at OBL, he won his Jihad. We cannot defeat an idea, especially one that is so greatly oppressed and indiscriminately fought against. I think this the reason for Paul's submission to the prophecy. It is literally the only way to win. Great book, great movie.
Zhendaya as Chani will be have a legendary impact same as Leia Organa/Carrie Fisher and Arwen/Liv Tyler as strong women in their epic franchises and decades
It's too bad Denis didn't put Alia as a child in the movie...I was so looking forward to that. A bad ass little girl with powers and the voice...man he missed an epic chance.
