Hollybush Railway is a TT:120 scale model railway set in a small industrial town in south west Scotland, created by David Burns.
It's not a recreation of the real life Hollybush station on the Ayr to Dalmellington line, but does take its name from there as every time I went up to visit my Grandparents who lived there, I always hoped I'd see trains running over the line that ran near the road up. There are parts of the layout inspired by that rural line through the Ayrshire countryside, parts taken from Ayr itself where I grew up and parts from Glasgow where I live now.
Some great views. The lighting and the (post) sound add a lot to bring it all to life. Thank you. Oh, and where did that Colman's wagon come from? I don't think it is Hornby, is it?
What else could it have been to soundtrack a new fire station? 🤣 On a bit of a Trumpton theme at the minute, over on my band's channel we uploaded a Half Man Half Biscuit cover of 'The Trumpton Riots' last week.
@@hollybushrailway very topical! Especially round me 😳 some of the less educated burnt the place that helps them…… ‘I predict a bad outcome’ catchy name for a a song I feel. Were you out at the Fringe?
Yeich! Hope you managed to stay safe through all that :O I don't do the Fringe much if I can help it, waaay too crowded for me. Used to play it years ago with a comedy band, trying to make your way between venues loaded down with guitars and gear was a nightmare
I was actually just re-watching your video on the LED strip light system at the moment. I *think* my soldering technique could just about manage it, but this is certainly a lot simpler! (once you get the batteries out)
So many nights waiting in real life stations on the way home from playing gigs with nothing but a plastic box shelter and the Scottish weather... Hollybush can have the nice things
Excellent work as always. Is the guy in light green by the barrel allowed to be that close to the shunting. 🤔 Happy Modelling. Keep up the great work 👍
The performance was so much better than the Germany game, I just wish Clarke would give Shankland a proper go. I'm an Ayr United fan and I still remember the season he scored 50 for us!
Another great video really enjoy them, do you mind if i ask how you did your roads? I've been waiting ages for gaugemaster to re-stock their tt 120 road sheets and i would like to sort where my buildings are going to go.
My roads are dead simple, just whatever black paint I had to hand. It dried a bit glossier than I thought it would, which is why when the lights are on it looks like it's been raining!
I picked up that loco and the coaches early on before there was much TT:120 available. I've half a mind to sell them all, put anything I got from them towards a Class 50 when they come out. I've got 1 loco, 5 coaches of Triang.
@@hollybushrailway OK. So you have TT120 track and a few Tri-ang TT items. Good blend. You know that the Tri-ang TT engine will outlive the Hornby TT120 ones right? No DCC though if that matters.
Wow! That’s come on so much from when you first started. You need to extend now…. 😁 ps love the out line that disappears behind the buildings but you just get a glimpse every now and then. You definitely have the touch for this 👍
@@hollybushrailway Yes can still you some but to be fair I’ve just seen that Westhill Wagon Works are doing some too, so I suspect demand for mine will dry up pretty rapidly!
No! Don't introduce a new bus route.. It may seem like a good idea now, but 6 months in six months from now they'll be closing the branch line due to lack of passengers... 😮
