Previously known as Ryks Video, Colorado Native makes videos of adventure and what to do in Colorado. There is so much adventure out there and I want to share it with you guys. Enjoy.
Your videos are helping me map out an epic trip for mid October this year. We are hitting Boreas pass and Guanella pass, then the Leadville train. We will hit Breckenridge and Glenwood Springs then down to Maroon Bells. It's going to be remarkably beautiful and we won't have to rush or miss out on anything because of your detailed work. Thank you!
Sounds fun, just to let you know the fall colors in places like Breck and Leadville are peaking right now, so there might be a chance you miss the colors. You may still find some in the lower elevations and farther south in mid October, places like Aspen and Glenwood could still be good around that time. Regardless, the passes will still look pretty.
@@coloradonativeguide Honestly my favorite colors of the season are when the red oranges and yellows are all blending. We will start exploring on the 14th so fingers crossed we get an epic Maroon Bells view.
Thanks, yeah I took off in 2017 when I made a few Colorado videos when there was no one else, but I put it on the back burner for too long so trying tonl start it up again.
The link to your map of everything to do in Colorado is not working for me is there anyway i can contact you and tell u my route and u point me to some stops I need to see @RyksVideos
Yeah, my I just started changing my site over to a new one 2 days ago, and it will probably be like that for a month, unfortunately. Where you thinking of going?
@@coloradonativeguide I'm starting in springs where I stay then up to Denver, Breckenridge, fairplay, aspen, rifle, fruita, then down to ridgeway, telluride down to Durango and if we have enough time over to the four corners area but if not just coming back to springs thru Alamosa area we leaving the day after labor
Okay, what do you want to do? Long hikes, short hikes, scienic drives, hot springs, ghost towns, mountain towns, waterfalls, camping, swimming, 4x4 or something else? How long you going to be in the area?
Been to Longs Peak, four times summited twice. I asked the park rangers all sorts of questions. You don’t need a park pass to enter before 8 AM or whatever the entrance time is you want to start at 4 AM anyways if you were looking to summit you also don’t need a parking pass or permit if you start before 4 AM this was told to me by the Rangers…
Thanks, yeah, I did this back in 2013, I believe. We didn't have any parks pass when we did it but there were signs that said we should. Thanks for letting me know about the rules. A lot has changed since 2013, especially with covid and the whole travel boom that followed
That would be a bit late. You might find some in lower elevations and in the south around that time, but it most likely Will be over. Try Pagosa Springs or colorado Springs área.
Yeah, I made it for the tourist. Towns that are fun and have the infrastructure for tourism. Although I should have a video coming out within a year about the unknown towns of Colorado. That one will have towns that most people have probably never heard of or been to.
No and yes.. yeah they may not be sitting in the mountains, and as someone who lived in the mountains for decades, we referred to anyone from those towns as flat landers, but have giving them a chance in the last few years they sit right at the edge of the mountains and offer more "mountain adventures" than some mountain towns, do, especially for tourists, so I included them.
Cool that you mentioned obscure places like Alma. For your future videos of towns of CO have you mentioned Stonewall already? The walls are amazing to see if you’re on your way to Trinidad on hwy 12 - the highway of legends. Gorgeous drive. Trinidad isn’t in the mountains, but it’s a beautiful town near NM border.
Not sure why I am bothering to comment now, but I did just see this. Only three of these towns are secluded or hidden. The rest are all well-known, have a water tourist and they’re not secluded. I am so tired of seeing these RU-vid videos of “hidden secluded towns in Colorado“ when there’s mostly no such thing. I sure wish RU-vidrs would do the research and know what the hell they’re talking about. I have a live in Colorado for 30 years and I have been to every one of these towns except gateway. Good thing you didn’t mention the real interesting hidden towns, so we don’t want others to know about those!
Right, this video was made 6 years ago for the tourist. I have updated and better categorized videos now, like the best towns, the best small towns, the most beautiful towns, and a future video coming out on the unheard/unkown towns of Colorado covering some of those lesser known ones even including a couple in Eastern Colorado. Pretty much no touristy ones will be included in that. Plus I have about 100 Colorado videos on there way now, covering almost everything about Colorado
@@coloradonativeguide thanks. But as you know, those towns were not secluded or hidden even six years ago. It’s just so strange to me that so many people make videos about the same thing and they include the same towns with the same miss information. I don’t know why that is, don’t know if they need to do better research. I’ve never made a RU-vid video but it just is disheartening to read all the same information when not even correct but that’s good if you’re making new and improved videos.
Yeah I have mentioned them in a couple videos. I did mention them in the Best Alpine Lakes video I made at about 2 minutes in, and I believe in the best things to do in Leadville Colorado as well. I didn't think they are really that blue and colorful so I didn't put them in this video, but I do agree they are very beautiful lakes.
