Great fishin... do you know of any shore fishin spots that I can bring my teenage son at Potomac Creek? He wants to catch a snakehead bad, but we don't have a boat or kayak. Thanks
You guys definitely caught plenty of fish, but the good ones were hiding! Appreciate you sharing your day. Hopefully we will see you guys at Smith Mountain. Take care buddy!
It was a Lew's Custom Pro reel 7.5:1 gear ratio and a Kistler KLX 7' frog rod. I'm using a 7'3 Lew's Signature Series Frog rod now. A little longer, more leverage for the grass fishing.
I’m in central va but I deliver to northern neck most days. I’ve wanted to target snakeheads because I never caught one. Saw a large group of ones in the Wicomico River in a creek around this persons dock. They were easily 30+ with a larger school of juveniles or fry on the other side. I know they have made their way down south of the Potomac so I’m going to start there. What artificial lures and sizes do you use to target them specifically?
It’s passed invasive. Nearly all the fish in the region are non native but after over 20 years the bass fishery the affected regions are better than ever including the Lotomac and Anacostia waterways. The tested biomass levels from shock surveys are higher than ever recorded for the Largemouth bass populations post snakehead introduction… The REAL problem are the out of control blue cats introduced in the 70s. They eat anything.
That's awesome to see, I've always wondered how they would take a creature bait especially when the water gets up and they're back in the thicker stuff. Those bass were nice too! Was it too grassy for a chatter bait or was there some other particular reason you went with the swim jig?
Hey man I just recently started bass fishing lake Chesdin I was curious as to what the Texas rig combo your using is, I went for 6 hours today and only caught 3 I’m used to burning em up but in private lakes and ponds, I threw rattles wacky jerks chatters weightless flukes and worms and only got 3 bites
i was there 2 weeks ago fishing a non tournament day, we had a water moccasin swim from the lilly pads up to the side of the boat trying to get in... i hit it in the back, he went underwater. things were tense for a few moments till we spotted him on the other lilly pads
That sucks to have spots in Buggs. That lake was one of the best in the country prior to the early 2000s when the virus showed up. I hate to see if go the way of Norman, Gaston and many others.
Tough tournament no doubt! Sorry about your motor issues Thomas. Hope you can get it taken care of without a lot of issues. See you at Lake Gaston my friend!
@ThomasHardenFishing thanks! Lower unit was my own fault just multiple blows to the prop over the last year. Finally got bad enough. Mechanic and I decided to just bypass the broken cable and install a hot foot. SO hey, whatever boat gets a modernization for same cost/even slightly less than it would be to go through the labor to fix it at the control box!
Quantity over quality, but nice job of finding fish when you had a bigger problem on your mind. Headed to Kerr in about a month for a Potomac Bassmasters tournament. Thanks for cleaning up that line. Let us know what happened(s) to your engine. Definitely did not sound good.
Thank you for this review. I already have two Pro Ti reels and now you have put the icing on the cake. I am about to order an Elite Ti. I am like a lot of fishermen in that I have used all different brands, but when I got my first Lews that is all I use now. I have several all the way from the Classic Pro, Laser MG, Tournament Pro, Pro Ti and they are all great reels.
@@ThomasHardenFishing appreciate you man. Love your channel. Have for years. Started following you because I was into lews real heavy years ago and happened tk find a great channel. Still like lews though I've leaned more to doawa lately. Like my lews but diaws has great stuff in the same price range. That said the tourny pro is one of the best reels I've owned.
Wow! You guys did really good! 23rd place is nothing to hang your head about at the nationals! Not at all surprised! Keep doing your thing Thomas. Appreciate you and what you do buddy!
This is a whole graveyard. These boats were created for World War I, but the war was over by the time that they were ready to be used. It’s a pretty known thing.
