I feel like this glossed over 1.3 way too quickly. Yeah 1.4 and on has had huge updates but I think 1.3 was equally as huge. It's a lot older so people just take for granted what all was added in that update, but 1.3 had Terraria blown up on the internet at the time. Personally I think it's the biggest update the game ever received, more so than 1.4 or any others imo. Twitch and youtube videos of Terraria were hitting the top view spots in gaming for a while, especially with the addition of expert mode and the loot bags. Just go read the wiki page patch notes for 1.3 and see just how much was added it's nuts especially for the time. This blew other games updates like Minecrafts out of the water.
I always make a big tunnel to the underworld on each side of my living area (leave a lot of room for expansion) and then cut a big tunnel under my living area too. Basically make a floating island out of my town and the evil can never spread to it and I don’t have to bother cleansing all that evil biome
the fact he directly said "hey guys theres gonna be an epilepsy warning" instead of just putting it up as some text as he talked about something else was actually really sweet. I'm not even prone to epilepsy or seizures i just think that's really kind.
Other devs need to take notes here, glitches that don’t negatively affect the game have no right being fixed. Off topic but it’s why I think skate 3 is a top tier game, there’s so many glitches that really elevate gameplay and it’s honestly somewhat of the skill gap in that game is learning the glitches
If you’re doing a “Legacy” playthrough of the game, we’re ignoring the obvious such as the Terraprisma as that by itself is already the Zenith of a “Legacy” game. This also means that only all items up to post-mechs and some up to -Plantera and -Golem will ever be considered, so items like the Terraformer and its additional solutions post-Moon Lord-since he will never manifest in a Legacy playthrough-won’t and cannot be counted here. The item cannot even be a common one that will be used all the time from the Terrarian’s hotbar anyway, so the Laser Drill is out as well simply for that reason. This leaves us with some key options-and that one choice is surprisingly one that’s common in the vast majority of discussions like this one: the *Shellphone.* What none of the item’s constituent components cover is warping you to the space layer, or specifically, one of the sky islands that usually reside in the space layer. But the Shellphone has just the workaround for that age-old problem. Turns out that it’s the only item out of all of its other derivatives that can warp you to spawn in addition to your home point, meaning where you’ve set your bed as personal spawn. And it also means you don’t need to remove the spawn point from your bed manually to get back to world spawn first; a potentially arduous process for most seasoned players. This means that you can “exploit” just that ability of the Shellphone to have warp access to the space layer via the home spawn whilst still retaining access to the surface with world spawn warp access. And so, this true miracle of modern communications can allow you to cover all five points of your world, even before obtaining your first Pylon from any happy citizen. In fact, since you don’t need them nearby or anything else to warp to these areas other than just having the device on hand at all, you can actually save the more advanced pylons for other key locations in the world to speed things up even faster than ever. I know, it seems like it’s still a violation of the rules to use an item that is not uncommonly talked about. But S’hell if I care for it; that one “exploit” just negated all this and made it worthy for this pick of mine. Just use Shellphone: it’s got features you never thought you’ve needed.
The “first fractal” is still in the game and was never removed period. It’s the terrablade now if it was ever called the first fractal at all. Also it’s (Guh-dough) 🤓👆
