Aaron is wonderful but Linda's singing is quite simply magnificent. She has never sounded better. Jennifer Warnes does a wonderful version of this Leonard Cohen tune, but Linda and Aaron's version blows it away. What a performance.
I don’t care how old I get or how many songs I hear or how jaded I become. This will always be the greatest Aaron Neville song ever sung. Thank you for sharing.
I could be wrong, but I think Ms. Ronstadt identifies as a "spiritual atheist." Whatever gives her mind and heart peace in this life is her personal business, but as for me, I couldn't be more grateful to this woman for what she has done with what I consider to be a gift from the Creator, and for how she has helped to illuminate the gifts of songwriters, musicians, and other talented singers. In a duet with one of her favorite songwriters, Jimmy Webb, there is a line in "All I Know" that says, "When the singers gone, the song goes on." Bernadette's and Linda Ronstadt's songs may have been very different, and in the eyes of man, one may have lived a more holy and virtuous life than the other, but I believe in the eyes of a merciful God, both of their songs will go on forever in the hearts of others who hunger and thirst for beauty and consolation.
